Great to hear some guys are coming. For Bama. Not sure when single game tix go on sale but I think it's a ways yet. I'll try to post when I hear. As far as history, it's all over around here. The best spot is the Appomattox battle ground where Lee surrendered in the civil war. Then on to Lexington where VMI is and Lee and stonewall Jackson lived. As far as the mountains go, the blue ridge parkway and the peaks of otter or a short drive away as well.

You should probably ask everyone there to not fly any rebel flags while Montana is down there, these guys have a problem with history and such.

Should be fun, but then again we always have fun on these trips.

The Civil War era is pretty abstract for a Montana kid - it just didn't figure too prominently in Montana history, except that most of the first miners into Montana Territory after the Civil War were expat rebels. Its incredible to see those battlefields. Chikamauga was awesome, Tennessee was awesome. I cant wait to visit the battlefield sites around Lynchburg.

Totally agree, Gettysburg was one of the coolest places I've ever visited!

I want to go to the Liberty game. It will be two fantastic teams (national championship contenders) lining up against eachother.

I did my first advanced individual training (A.I.T) at Fort Lee, Virginia, a long time ago. I saw a triple AAA baseball game in Richmond, and the girls at Virignia Beach. Good times...

GO GRIZ

Wont be there to see my schools battle each other. It is the day of the first Montana Warrior Challenge (Impact Montana event) to support Montana's finest. We will have the game on at the private event party at the Lakeside Bar and Grill on Hauser, along with bands and such. Gonna be a great weekend here at home!

I really cant wait to go to this game, never been to Virginia and I cant wait to check out the history in the area. I bet you cant walk a city block and not see a place where the South got their ass kicked in the civil war.

Its going to be awesome.

I am not a big civil war history guy, but i think the south won quite a few of the battles here in Virginia. Its funny, civil war history was a couple of weeks in the fifth grade in MT, here its taught like every year. there are people who even dress up and reenact the battles every year. same side always wins. Quite a few schools are named after southern generals here as well. R E Lee and Turner Ashby are both in our school district.

That's exactly what I loved about it when I went there. Except I think the confederates held their own pretty good in the south...haha If you have time run over to VB, that's a fun time. only about 150 miles away.

Gotta love that whole year of Montana history in high school though. Bet they don't teach shit on that in Virginia. Ya, suck it Virginia! :D

I forgot stonewall Jackson as well. And ya, 8th grade full year of MT history at Charlo. Some cool field trips too.

The south sounds a lot like France, why anyone would teach and focus on losing or having their ass handed to them is beyond me.

Should be a good trip either way.

I am staying at the Craddock Terry Hotel, its about 8 miles from the stadium but its on the river, plus it is a 4 star hotel and AG1s like to pamper themselves.

True but I might rent a car and go on a "Jager Runner" so I can add Virginia to my list of states.

:coffee:

So psyched for this game. It will be one of the 2 biggest (of only 5) home games. Chicken JMU Bagged LU, so Coastal and Montana are the only 2 quality home games. They did fill that game with a good one, SIU, but it's away.
