I should just stay out of this but for some reason I feel like responding. I have a 5 year old daughter and honestly am scared sh*tless for her growing up. But that story the girl wrote also makes me worried for a son I may have someday. They both are drunk. She says yes. But in the middle she decides maybe she doesn't want it. Now he is considered a rapist. That is why I said the line between consensual sex and rape is blurry. If a girl is drunk, even if she says yes, it can be considered rape. There are different degrees of rape for sure but it's still considered rape.
Or the girl cannot remember "consenting" the next morning and knows she had sex. I'm sorry but to me getting ass naked in bed with a guy and then sucking his dick is a pretty good indication that she is more than willing to have sex. I bet that kid doesn't ever remember her saying "no" or she "didn't want to". I bet it sure looked like she wanted to.

I wonder what % of one night stands could be considered rape.

Disclaimer: In no way am I sticking up for or defending someone that physically forces themselves on someone else. I believe what Donaldson did, having sex with a girl who was asleep on his couch and had no idea what was going on, is disgusting and should be punished very severely.

I endorse that disclaimer. Big difference in the two situations. Huge difference.

I agree with JCU. If that girl was "raped" then I need to re-evaluate myself and hooking up with random girls. Good lord.

I agree, but the person who really thought that woman was the cause of her own problems was my wife for reasons I'd hope every mother would convey to a daughter.

Here's an interesting writing by a female UM student, from the Kaimin.

I believe that's the skankiest thing I've ever read. That's truly sad and pathetic on her part.

Agreed, if that is what happened to Johnson or any other guy I would be pissed if their life was ruined do it. What a joke, so is this dumb broad saying "yes means no and no means yes", I don't get it. I know I said some people should feel bad for making the girl out to be the bad person in the Johnson thing, but if the accuser in the Johnson case did this to him, I am jumping on the Johnson bandwagon. The girl who wrote this should be paraided around for exactly what she is worth, a sensionalist who hides behind a paper and a pencil in order to gain attention. The Kaimin should be ashamed off themselves for letting this out to the public, and shame on you Ali, if that is in fact your actual name.

Good post. It would be tough to find a girl who has much sympathy for her in those situations.

Yeah, that chick is just terrible =/

It just blows my mind that anyone can think like she did/does.

The usual suspects are starting to get very close to excusing rape, and nobody here knows the details of the report filed against JJ. We already know that there has been a serious internal investigation at the UM for other sexual assaults, and that multiple alleged incidents have occurred involving members of the football team.

Parents of recruits read this board, so before we all start the usual excuses, how about we just let this one marinate for a bit.

That said, I don't take anything jcu and PlayerRep post as being at all serious, and I hope no other rational posters do, either.

She put her name behind it, so I guess I'm not sure how that is "hiding".

You, on the other hand, are some anonymous internet poster using the name "MooUBaby". Aren't you the one hiding, tough guy?

Ali Murray is a real person; you are a coward who hides behind a computer screen. Did you actually think before you type this bullcrap?

This is pretty funny coming from the guy who posted yesterday that Johnson had been "arrested", and the guy who is supporting the woman who wrote the Kaimin article (which almost every posting weighing in has been appalled by).

You only come to the board when there is something negative going on and something negative to be said. The internal investigation by the university is almost done, and, at this point, there doesn't appear to have been any significant university action taken against a football player, except presumably Donaldson. I suppose you will get all excited if there's action taken in the last remaining incident. Perhaps you are the one who ought to admit that there appears to have been alot of smoke, fueled by the Missoulian, without much fire--at least up to this point.

She describes two separate instances of rape. The first is pretty clear-cut. "I didn’t have sex last night, right? I said no, right?" And then later: "I had said no. I remembered saying no."

The second is, too:

"I verbally said yes, and physically was still saying no. Sex wasn’t working for me and he didn’t seem to get that.......

I asked him to get off me. He said just a little bit more.

I asked to put my underwear back on.
He kept going."

A woman can withdraw consent at any time, even mid thrust. Sorry, guys.

It is a huge bush league move on Northwest's part to post that Jordan Johnson was arrested. He and all the TAC fans know god damn good and well JJ has not been arrested for anything. NOT EVEN CLOSE!.

I have no problem with booting JJ from the team IF and when the time comes that is what needs to happen. I also have no problem betting any TAC fan that if nothing else this next season, the Griz beat the Cats without Jordan Johnson at quarterback.

I also don't agree with PR (and he's well aware of it) and many others that Missoulian has conspired against Montana football, and in no way have they caused Griz football players to do the things necessary to end up in the paper in the first place. The MINUTE the fact that a starting, all-conference quarterback for the Montana Grizzlies was involved in something illegal, it became front page news whether you or I or anybody else likes it or not, including a TRO. The Missoulian caused NONE OF THIS, and as a newspaper, they are NOT being unethical. They are doing their job.

However, the posting of blatant lies about Griz football and Griz football players is getting pretty tiresome, from Griz fans and Cat fans. You all post with the intent of taking the moral high ground by saying "I just want Montana to be accountable for it's problems with it football team." But it's pretty fricken immoral to lie isn't it? And by lying I mean, the stupid ass isht Growler posts, Northwest posting that JJ has been arrested, the five different threads on BN with people claiming they have knowledge that JJ raped a girl, Bigsky23 posting that he knows for a fact that the NCAA is investigating Montana or the 9,000 lies Cats2506 posts weekly on this board. Oh yah, I saw one somewhere that said sports illustrated is doing an article on the Griz. Everything I just listed is a blatant lie.

Christ, I'm starting to miss Alpha. He may be the biggest ahole on this board, but I've yet to see him post anything but the truth.

I'm glad someone on this board knows how consent works. I was really starting to get worried.

Do you support the Missoulian's various misleading and incorrect statements too? For example, that UM failed to notify the police for a week after they had the name of the foreign student had committed a sexual assault--even though the university spoke with police the same day they learned of the sexual assault. Also, UM police had notified the city attorneys office the day they learned of what had been communicated to them as an assault (non-sexual). Do you think it's okay for the Missoulian to hammer the university for not disclosing the international student's name to police, even though no report had been made to the police and the police said they couldn't do anything even after they had the name? Do you really believe than an ex-parte temporary reporting order involving a college student should be put on the front page of a newspaper like the Missoulian--without any vetting or any questioning or corroboration by any other party?

Do you think the Associated Press' policy, at least as of several years ago when an article that I posted earlier was written, of generally not disclosing the name of a suspect before he has been charged, is a good policy?

Do you not support the journalism ethics statements that I posted earlier today? Let me know if you can't find them, and I'll re-post them.

I assume you believe in some journalistic ethics?

You can't truly consent when you're drunk. Clear cut rule/advice = don't sleep with drunk girls. Seems simple enough to me.

However, in this situation, it's stupid to speculate what may or may not have happened before knowing what the facts are. Give it a rest until the situation plays out. One would hope that this girl is not making a false, "vengence" allegation; and one would also hope that someone who is representing the state and a university would not rape a woman, but one of these has to give. Time will tell.

I've never had interest or a reason to read the Kaimen before, so I clicked that link out of curiousity. If that is an example of what they print, I see I have been wise to avoid reading it. That has got to be the weakest argument for rape I've ever heard. Nothing against this girl or what she thinks on the subject, but that should have never been printed. It hurts the case of anyone trying to raise awareness on the issue of rape. She admits enjoying being groped by the 2 boys at the party, but seems to justify that because shes been drinking. She doesn't consider giving a guy a bj as sex, and seems to have given it to him willingly enough. I bet the guy thought the bj was sex. On that subject, it annoyed me when she at one point brought up the old standby that she was raised Roman Catholic and was taught to save it for marriage or true love or whatever. As a Roman Catholic she should know that a bj is considered sodomy, and not allowed. I'm not preaching, just saying that she can't justify one behavior as seemingly o.k, and then use her upbringing as another behavior not being o.k., if that makes any sense. Just something that annoys me. As someone who was raised Roman Catholic myself, I had violated plenty of the tenets by the time I was 16, and never use my upbringing as an excuse or reason for anything. It's hypocritical. Anyway, I guess I'm just saying that if this is a legitimate argument for a case of rape, my teenage years and young adulthood was riddled with felonies. All it ever took for me to stop was a girl to say no, but I sure wasn't a mindreader and didn't know what a verbal yes but a physical no was. Confusing. Oh well, glad those days are far behind me.

There's a 50/50 chance that happened (either it did or didn't). You weren't there. Quit condoning rape already. Hate to break it to you, but the world isn't one giant conspiracy theory. The vast, vast majority of people don't go around making up rape allegations.

sorry PR, but just because there is something on the internet called j-ethics, it doesn't mean it's law. go to 100 j-schools and you'll get taught 100 different things. and the associated press isn't the final word either, that's why their handbook is call AP STYLE. it's a recommendation not a rule. i hate to inform many of you this but newspapers can publish to their choosing. PERIOD. that's it. done. no need to respond. i've read every word you have to say on the missoulian. agree to disagree. no need for a pissing contest. anyone who is worried about what the missoulian is doing is clouding the bigger issue. they did not cause grizzly football players to do the things they do that would make the missoulian WANT to publish stories about them. whether those stories are ethical or not.

So at first it wasn't rape then all the sudden it is. That just sounds like a trap. Plus any woman could do that then claim rape. Sounds like bs to me. And if you can't handle your alcohol, don't drink or don't drink that much. Being drunk is just another excuse for women doing dumb shit. I mean most drunks do a lot of dumb stuff, but compared to women. Holy shit...
