West loses a great senior class. They will be down a bit. Still competitive but not a champ I don't hink

I was only alowed ten teams to place in the poll so I took out those four teams since I felt they were the least likely to win.

Pick the best players off all those teams to make one decent team and they still couldn't compete.

CMR wins, they are due.


West lost too much to make a real run but Capital will still be good.

Does CMR return a lot of players? I think I read that Capital returns a lot.

Sentinel will have very good skill players, but not a lot of size again this year. I think they will be the best out of Missoula, followed by Big Sky and Hellgate. Sentinel is definitely on the upswing, and Big Sky has some good young players. Not much hope for Hellgate until the Freshman and 8th graders this year are matured.

While Sentinel and Big Sky may be improving, I really don't think it matters much with the enrollment disparity. Add that to the fact that other towns simply do a better job of the high schools working with the youth program to prepare the kids to play high school ball than the Missoula schools and Little Griz do.

Butte High will be much improved this fall, last year they were very young and also learning a brand new offense under Arie Gray. The QB last year was a soph and was improving week by week last fall. I look for Butte High to finish at least at .500.

I do not follow HS football back in Montana much anymore since moving to Colorado. However, whoever takes over at Hellgate has some good core talent to work with. Next year's SR and JR classes are very skilled with great size too. What hurts Hellgate is quality depth and lack of participation. I am not sure about their offense, but they will be very good defensively.

Offensively, if they have good OL play they may surprise everyone. I hope they get a good coach.

Just some notes...

A friend told me that last year in Msla Sophmore Football, Big Sky and Sentinel rolled on Hellgate.

Sentinels Sophmores had a really good season, Big Sky went like 5-5, Hellgate, not so good.

I am really liking Big Sky's Senior class next season. They went 9-1 at the sophmore level and 8-2 at the JV level, beating HELENA CAPITAL TWICE! The only games BS JV lost were @ Helena and @ Glacier, where BS was resting varsity players who start on JV for the playoffs.

Not sure how Sentinel and Hellgates JV did.

I know Billings West will lose alot, and Senior will be improved. Skyview will be about the same Butte and CmR will be better. Flathead, Glacier, Bozeman, and Great Falls not so much. Helena and Capital will still be a force.

CMR will be good as will Billings Skyview. West and Capital lose a lot (West more than Capital) but those two are established programs and will find a way to compete.
