Who will be back? Who won't be?

The big question circulating now that both the Cat's and Griz's BB season is over. Of the underclassmen players who will be back and who will not? After a new coaches first year it is not uncommon to see some "adjustments" to the existing roster for a wide variety of reasons.

For the Cats nothing is in stone that every one will be back. I think we will have maybe two player not returning, who and do they leave on their own or not asked back there is rumblings but no solid info..... yet.

I hope everyone on the Griz returns, if there was any two guys I would wonder about it would be Chase and Vanderjagt though.

Im still interested in seeing what Vanderjagt can do, I mean he's 7' and can stroke it from 3 range. Wish we could have seen a little more of him this year. I like Chase but he didn't really live up to the hype. Hopefully he can pull a Virgil Matthews- average junior year, then great senior season.

I don't know if I can see anyone leaving the team, but who knows?

What's the deal with Vanderjagt anyway? Sure he's a 7 footer, but does he have the ability to gain weight? Is he ever going to be a center that can bang in the paint like a 7 footer should, or is he kind of a Selvig type that can play 3-4?

When Strait is gone that will leave a big hole, is that something that will probably be filled by Qvale and Sharp, or can Vanderjagt be a physical center?

Is Jovanni Sims leaving? Somebody said so before.

I don't think when they recruited Vandejagt he was to be a force down low. He's similar to a Dirk Nowitzki, great shooter and passer, but terrible with low block defense. I'll never give up on a 7 footer with good hands.

I think Kyle Sharp will be able to play solid post defense, and he is a good rebounder.

I would like to see Vanderjagt put some some muscle though 15 - 20 pounds would go a long ways for him in the post.

There was a story in the Kaimin about a month ago that said Sims had left the team & was trying to find a lower level school where he could actually get cleared to play.

I'm pretty sure Sims went to a JC. He said he hopes the Griz recruit him again. By all accounts, it seems he is a quality young man and left on good terms. Chase and Vanderjagt (who I wish would have redshirted) seem to have positve attitudes and I hope they return. I have to wonder a little about Swift. He played very little towards the end. However, with Dlouhy and Mayes gone, his opportunity to play much more next year looks promising.

From what I saw from Swift in the drills and practices before the season started I was jacked about this guy, his athleticism and speed were amazing, but then when the regular season came he kind of vanished.

So Qvale averaged 24 and 14 in his regional tournament... does his play, along with selvigs, in their respective high school tournaments affect who stays and goes?
