Who should we listen to when it comes to coaching the Griz?

First of all , BK is our new head coach and I think we need to rally around him and go forward.
Next, I hope the program establishes what kind of football is Griz football.
When Pfulgrad took over he changed from pro set to west coast. Yes, he got us to the semi's, but a lot of that is because of a very talented qb in Jordan Johnson.
Next we han the Engstrom issue and lost Pflu and O'Day. Delaney came in to calm things. I thought he was interim but he stayed around and re established the pro set.
Oh Stitt! Here comes a dumpster fire riding in with his green hat on. I never did figure our what offense he stood for but differ with his tight end philosophy.
BH returns and brings an evolved form of Bobby Ball. Smash mouth pro set Ball seems to work in the FCS.
I think the important thing is to establish a style of play and hire a coach that fits.
It hurts me to say this but ndsu is the proven gold standard for FCS success. SDSU Coach Stiegelmeir, now retired, said it best when he said if you want to beat ndsu then you must become ndsu. NDSU does not change the game. They modify it a bit but no hard changes. They also tend to promote from within.
State is nothing more than a plagiarized copy of the bison way. We all know State likes to copy, ie 41.
My apologies for the long post and wandering from the central theme. My adhd fueled by too much caffeine contributed.
Good luck to Coach BK and Go Griz.

I think people misremember why that team was so good.

JJ had better statistical seasons in 2013 and 2014.

The defense and running game are what carried that team. We didn't see a better defense until arguably 2021, and we didn't see a better rushing offense until McDowell lead the 2023 offense.

This is a message from an outstanding College football defensive coordinator. He was the DC for the Bobcats in 1984 when they won the NC. He is retired now. He coached many years at a college in San Diego. He knows football and football people.

Just to let you know your new head football coach, Bobby Kennedy, I know him really well. We coached at a football camp in Colorado for two or three summers in a row. Really good guy. Yeah, actually was a graduate assistant at Wyoming. Also, he's been around the block!

Should we listen to legend Bobby Hauck who says Bobby Kennedy is the guy or egrizzers who don’t know the difference between their ass from a handful of sand and are convinced that he won’t succeed?
What would you expect him to say? Never heard of “coach speak”?
I certainly hope he does succeed I just question how a guy that’s been coaching all over the FBS for 30 years has NEVER been anything other a position coach. I mean exactly what part of his coaching history makes you believe he’s the guy to be a successful head coach here other than Bobby saying “he’s the guy”?

He was on the staff with Mack Brown and David Shaw during some of their best years. It sounds like the players like him a lot as well. He said our staff is going to recruit every high school in Montana. He said winning the recruits in Montana is a priority.

I think it's a horrible hire and we should've done an intergalactic search and Haslim(sp) and position coach and Bobby Bobby and unproven and Haslem(sp) and already have my mind made up and Sabin(sp) wasn't like this and 30 years and really didn't coach good players and I won't be happy no matter what because I'm miserable but . . . Hope I'm Wrong, fellas.

How'd I do?

And we had Bob Beers coaching the OL. He was the best we ever had.

And that says “this guy is going to succeed as head coach at the University of Montana” to you?
