Who is playing offensive tackle in 2026….

Griz added some OL in portal that will help right away. But people don’t realize a lot of these guys come out of high school and have to put on 30-50 lbs and get way stronger before they are ready. Freitas, Hilden, Steinbach, Teske and the big Hawaiian Kanakaole all could be that next stud. Not one person on Egriz knows about their development and where they are at. Hilden still is intriguing to me. He played QB his junior in high school it appears did a solid job. Remember a year ago Brooks Davis was an unknown and a large share on here thought Ah Yat was a bust.

I’m excited for the transfers and offensive line coach that we are bringing in. In my opinion, there is no reason to be down or negative about them going into next season.

The Griz did not give many sacks.
Guess you didn't read what I wrote, or you didn't really watch the games. The Griz didn't give up many sacks because Ah Yat would often get the ball off within 2 - 3 seconds. Partially because Ah Yat read the defense fairly well and went through his progressions fast. Another reason is Pease purposely called quick developing plays because the o line couldn't hold their blocks. When they really needed time to throw, they almost always kept Shafer in because the o lineman had a hard time in pass pro

Bobby told me in late Oct that pocket protection was good and running yards were consistently good. I had asked him about OL.

The OL does seem to have been a focus this offseason for going into next season as well. I am not sure how much bringing in FBS transfers and a coach of Brent Myers pedigree costs but it can’t be cheap for a team at UM’s level.

When you lose 5 starters, you literally have no choice but to address the issue lol
We lost starters to graduation or transfer to power 5 programs where they are likely making 6 figures in NIL. The Griz could have brought in scrubs to replace these guys and they did not. We have high level players and a high level coach coming in.

If the Griz offensive and defensive line were not good last season, why are our starting left tackle and nose tackle going to be playing at one of the best Big 12 schools for NIL next season? Is Jimmy Rogers an idiot? He must know something about how good these guys are. Iowa State could have brought in almost any FCS left tackle and nose tackle that they wanted with the difference in NIL funding and they chose the guys from Montana, one of which was constantly maligned on this board I might add.

Do you want to bet the moneyline with the Patriots at -238? Remember when Kalispell Flathead alum Brock Osweiler valiantly filled in as backup qb for the Broncos to beat the Patriots on the way to the Super Bowl?
I don’t bet. I’m sure you can find someone that will though.

Will Brock be wearing Stidhams jersey?

Will Brock be wearing Stidhams jersey?
It’s good that Brock isn’t playing because he has been out of the league since 2018 and his best year in the pros was 10 years ago filling in for Peyton. I doubt he will be attending the game either. It’s 65 today in Scottsdale and going to be something like 10 degrees in Denver at kickoff. If I run into Brock during the game tomorrow, I will let you know what he was wearing. I doubt it will be a Stidham jersey though. Brock Osweiler seems to be fashion conscious.

Thank you for the Brock history lesson and status update😂.

HARBAUGH: "The offensive line to me is important. If I asked you the question, what position group depends on no other position group to be good, but every other position group depends on them to be good -- what position group is that? Offensive line. They're not relying on any other position group to be good, but yet every other position group relies on the offensive line to be good. And then the D-line, they'll be the ones that argue back, saying 'We don't need the offensive line to be good.' Don't you? Don't you like when the offense has a 12-play drive? And then they say, 'Ok, you're right.' Building that kind of offensive line is exciting. That group is like a fist. There are five of them playing as one."

And... ironically... the Chargers had the second-worst OL in the NFL. Ahead of only the Browns.

What I saw had the Chargers ranked as the 3rd worst and there is room for optimism. Joe Alt is coming along nicely. They just need to get some help on the interior. I expect that to be a focus for them this offseason.
