Who is going to Liberty?

You do understand that Americans have the freedom to choose the university they attend, right? I don't beleive any Liberty students are forced to attend the school. I'm pretty sure they all willing decided to go there, just like your not forced to attend the game and root for the Griz during a sporting event.

Of course. What the fvck lead you to make all these dumb assumptions? If people want to go to a school with a 48% graduation rate (6 year avg. completion time) with very few nationally accredited degrees because of Jesus, let them do it. I won't have any part of it though.
Good for you. Remember to stand by your morals. I'm still gonna enjoy a great football game between to great teams.

Again with the assumptions. I'm going to enjoy it too. I've paid for it regardless if I watch it. Read the thread title.

My bad. I thought from your first comment of feeling ashamed about the game that you couldn't still enjoy it. I forgot that being a psych guy, you could also feel joy at the same time and not be confused by your mixed emotions. After all, they are just playing football, not having a theological debate. I've always enjoyed your signature by the way. That's a classic ;-)

No worries. I'm glad you like the sig. I used to have a bunch of them, but not everyone appreciated the load times/material. Given that I now live in Missouri, I bought Directv and their sports package so I can see the games. Hopefully, we kick their butts!

What's all this? They don't have booze?
When I first moved to the south l, the thought never crossed my mind that dry counties still exist but they got em.

Dry county. I had to google it. Is this just for prisons, or do people actually choose to live in these places? More importantly, does the Liberty place have booze?

You have to understand how it works. (Lived down there for awhile, have a bunch of relatives who still do.) First, you have the religious teetotalers (the same folks who gave us Prohibition, bootleggers, and so much mob violence -- unintended consequences). Then you have the bootleggers, who make a ton of money bringing booze in from the nearby non-Dry Counties. And, of course, the liquor dealers in those nearby counties like the situation just fine. So whenever a local option to go "wet" comes up for a vote, there's a ton of money -- and endless amounts of righteous indignation against "Demon rum" -- to get out the NO votes.

:off: but fun. :)

We're talking about foreign countries, right? Can you imagine if this happened in America?

Funny!

For those who don't know, Idaho controls all sales of hard liquor in bulk -- through "state stores." Bars have liquor-by-the drink, but cannot sell you a bottle. Groceries and those little convenience stores can sell you beer and wine, but that's it. Wyoming is the same way, if I'm not mistaken. And if you think that's just "Oh well, that's all those Mormons" -- liberal Oregon does the same thing.

More to the point: Virginia is also a so-called "control state," where hard liquor is sold through state stores. Not sure how they handle liquor-by-drink or beer and wine.

As for Liberty U. ... as I understand it, they prohibit tobacco as well as (all) alcoholic beverages on campus.

And also, as of the time I may or may not have attended UM, sales of Everclear were illegal in Idaho. I may or may not have known this and someone may or may not have acquired a few briefcases of non-consecutive, completely untraceable $20 bills as a result. I doubt that it's true. But maybe.

Makes sense. I'm told it makes for an excellent accelerant. Not that you would have any knowledge of and/or interest in that property of the liquor.

None at all. Maybe some psycho arsonist would have interest in that, and can't believe he never thought of it. That guy might put it to use in the near future, or something, to get the fuzz off his ass for hoarding gasoline for "personal use," but I don't really know since it's not me.

Far as I know, Everclear is still illegal in Idaho. However, it is available in Wyoming, and Jackson is only about 90 min away. Simpler than freeze-concentrating Vodka, although I've done that too, to make fusions. Yummy.
