Who has changed their plans for the year?

My how the story has changed now that Bobby's in charge...who knew you were such a hypocrite. THis coming from the same guy who "wasn't gonna give another dime" to the university until Stitt was fired...

Answer me this, Kem: If last Saturday wasn't your "UNC" moment, what exactly would you need to see to pull your support of this staff? Because if THAT wasn't it, I shudder to think what it would take...

Losing the Stein again and getting trucked by the Cats should do it for most Anything else and we’re just delaying pulling off the bandage.

well there's not a snowball's chance in hell of beating either Idaho, Sac or MSU, so even if we miraculously win ALL the rest (which ain't happening barring a major miracle), that puts us at 7-4 and on the outside looking in with 6 D-1 wins.

PSU, Idaho and Davis are ALL on the road. I can see losing all three of those. Sac and MSU are at home. I can see losing both of those. that's 5-6 at best. Not sure how far the wheels have to fall off before people start waking the fuck up.

"Not a fair weather supporter…I just don’t want to waste my money to get mad at mediocre football!" Isn't this exactly what a fair weather supporter is?

Far from it, considering this has been building over over 2 straight years, 6 years if you want to argue his lack of "RTD" that he promised. Fair weather fans are more like those who don't care if the program never improves, safe in the bubble of what they're familiar with, okay with being lied to ex.

Listen, you have absolutely every right to not spend your money on coming to see the Griz play, or anything else. You have every right to criticize whatever you want in whatever format you want. I understand that. I have been gutted about the loss too. But what you don't get to do, is change the definition of fair weather fan. Here is the definition from the top sources when I google--

Sportsnhobbies.org -- "A fairweather fan is someone who is only interested in a sports team when it is doing well. The term may also be used to describe political followers, music fans, and followers of various figures in the entertainment industry such as directors, actors, and so forth. As a general rule, fairweather fans are heavily criticized by people who regard themselves a loyal fans, sticking with a team through bad times as well as good ones."

Urban Dictionary -- "A fan of a sports team who only shows support when the team is doing well. During hard times they usually bandwagon other teams. They basically have no real loyalty to the team, but still manage to get better seats than you at the game. Strangely they mysteriously vanish at the first sign of trouble.
Fair weather fan: "OMG what a comeback! That was amazing!"

Regular fan: "How would you know? You left right when Favre threw the pick six in the 2nd and if I recall you didn't even start rooting for Green Bay until 2 weeks ago."

Fair weather fan: "... GO PACK!""

Wikipedia -- "fair weather fan (plural fair weather fans)

(sports, idiomatic) A fan who only pays attention to their favorite team when they are performing well."

Thefreedictionary.com -- "A person who is supportive of and enthusiastic about a sports team only when that team is performing well."

So lets just agree that you have every right to criticize the team, not spend money to watch the team, and generally just do anything you want to because its a free country. But lets not redefine that term to spin it against people who want to support the Griz team no matter how rough it gets. I want them to get better. I want whatever changes it takes to turn this around. But I'm not going to quit supporting the kids, showing up to watch, or rooting for everybody involved to succeed in every game. And that doesn't make me a bad fan, either.

If I was fairweather, I'd just go root for someone else. I wouldn't give a shit whether they won or lost, how they performed, or care about the extensive list of shortcomings exposed on Saturday. It's possible to support the PROGRAM while still demanding accountability from those who are paid lots of money to get the program to the right place. Doesn't make any of us "fairweather fans".

Wasting $2500 of my money to buy two plane tickets, get a hotel room for two nights, 6-8 meals out, etc., etc. to watch them get blown out by Sac State? No thanks...I can watch that debacle from the comfort of my own living room for free, throwing shit at the TV.

Calling those who are not happy with the program "fair weather fans" is a complete falsehood in this case. 6 years is a hell of a long time to wait and seeing things fall off a cliff the last 2 years on both sides of the ball and finally saying enough doesn't make people a fair weather fan.

Just another garbage attempt to label anyone who criticizes this team as somehow being "bad fans" or somehow less then those who want to keep spending money despite the product being nowhere near what was promised. All this does is provide more vindication that anyone who tries to criticize this program or is unhappy with the coaches gets labeled as such and other insults.

Sir, take another look at the thread. I did not attack you and call you a fair weather fan or label you as anything. I said that it isn't fair to twist that terminology as you did, and say "the real fair weather fans" are the ones who are not raging online about it right now. My point to you was that people continuing to support the team are not fitting any definition I am finding of a fair weather fan. I also said you have every right to criticize whatever you want, but you can't twist and change the meaning of what a fair weather fan is and use it to attack the people supporting the team.

Absolutely you can. Read my post again. I went out of my way to say people can not spend money to come to games and say whatever they want. I was not calling anyone a fair weather fan, I quoted definitions and said it is not possible to twist that term around to attack people still supporting the team.

Blindly supporting the team doesn't make one a "better fan". Expecting more doesn't make one a worse fan. And calling out systemic failure and multi-season below-average play and coaching doesn't make one "fair weather".

As I said, I can support the PROGRAM without supporting the coaching performance (or even the individual performances on the field).

AZ, brother, read the thread again. I said it "doesn't make me a bad fan, either." I'm not saying you or he are a bad fan. I said that poster can't twist "fair weather fan" around to attack people for the things he said. That just isn't the definition of fair weather fan.

You can call me stupid, ignorant, blindly optimistic, or even a Haucksucker (which was funny, btw), but I'm not a fair weather fan for continuing to hope every week for a win and root every week for a win. Me complaining won't make a difference in the team, but me remaining optimistic and hopeful will make a difference in my day to day joy. I'm not a fair weather fan for that.

Honest question for griz Nation. IF Bobby does not win another game this season, is there any person on this planet (Besides Bobby and PR) that would not want him fired immediately after Cat-griz?

Honest question for you. If the Griz win some games in te playoffs, do you think Hauck will or should be fired?

Another honest question for you. If Vigen loses a bunch of
games, should he be criticized or fired?

I will not criticize anyone who decides it is not worth the time, effort, or money to go to Missoula to attend games. I will go, as I have for nearly every home game for the last 30 years. My years as a student at UM remain central to who I am as a citizen and a parent. Reagan was President when I attended UM and he had nothing to do with any reasons to support the university or its student athletes. Gimme a break. The Grizzlies are the only team(s) I truly care about in any any sport at any level. While it can be frustrating at times, my support — in person — will not change.

I will. Especially, if one bad loss causes that to occur.

Call me crazy…I do not like spending 5 to 6 grand in travel cost for the season, plus the cost of my season tickets to watch the next bubble screen for negative 4 yards in Biden’s America. So glad the new normal price of 4 bucks a gallon gas humors you!

This last weekend was painful and it has been building for a few years now. So painful that I can not justify coming up to every game now in Biden’s America of high gas, hotel, and food prices. Just sold my homecoming and N. Colorado tickets and debating Sac St right now.

Not a fair weather supporter…I just don’t want to waste my money to get mad at mediocre football!

There needs to be an immediate change but unfortunately I do not see that till the end of this season. What a sad state the University Of Montana Football department is in!

Who else have change their plans?

"Biden’s America of high gas, hotel, and food prices." That is hilarious!

I’d want him gone. I hope the losses don’t happen. If they do, he should go. I’d venture that if he had two coordinators coaching while out on bail for drunk driving and other offenses, and gave them renewals/raises as rewards, almost all of Griz Nation would want him, the AD, and possibly the university president gone now, regardless of record.

We’ve been round and round on Bobcoaches’ crimes, but It’s absolutely absurd for any Bobfan to deny that the admin is WAAC. It’s so blatantly obvious. Just admit it at this point to preserve some dignity.

There are highs and lows in every season and last weekend was a clear low. There will be highs, and this year, and many calling for the heads of the whole AD will be embarrassed. We'll keep coming to see the kids play and hope they win.

The high will be defeating last years D2 National Champion

What’s wild is the next offensive series that will go 3 and out and that’s ok for some! :thumb:

if we did not win another game all season..yes I would want him fired....buy that is not going to happen and saturday we will be 4-1 and then the following week 5-1 and then 6-1... well you get the point. I mean the moon could really be made of cheese but we all now it isn't and we all know bobby is not going to lose the rest of the games. It is evident there are people who post here who will want him fired even if we win out..

I just wonder where that level of understanding was when Stitt was coach? This is the same guy who swore he was never donating another dollar or spending another dollar on the Griz program until Stitt was gone…now it’s “there’s highs and lows in every season” blah blah blah.

Giant freaking hypocrite, just because HIS guy is in the coach’s office now.
