Who has changed their plans for the year?

That sounds exactly like what a fair weather fan would say. And let me ask you this, what exactly would be productive about letting everybody go now? If you don't have a coaching staff cause you let them all go, how the hell do you get through the remaining 7 games? Plus it's not like we're 1-3, there is a possibility these guys can right the ship and get back on track. I'm not saying they will, all I'm saying is it's a bit pre-mature to be thinking about bailing on the team with only 1 loss on the season so far with 7 games to go

What, exactly is productive about keeping everyone until the end of the season? If we lose to ISU, I’d fire the whole staff. If we beat ISU and lose to UCD, I’d fire the whole staff. If we beat ISU and UCD and lose to UNC, I’d fire the whole staff. “Righting the ship” implies it’s an “execution” issue or coaching issue. This team QUIT. Period. End of story. THAT doesn’t just get “righted” by a pep talk from the coach.

Oh, and I’ve canceled the one trip I had planned. Not spending $2500+ to come watch them get smoked by Sac State. I can watch that poop from my living room for free.

What if UM beats ISU, UCD, and UNC but gets blown out at home by the Cats? Just kidding AZ. I wouldn't recommend firing the whole staff midseason though. Let's see what they come up with for this Saturday and go from there.

The only change in plan is this weekend. Instead of pulling my trailer to Missoula I rented a cabin in Seeley. Mostly because of weather. Anyway I will set up my tailgate, party with friends and family and watch Montana play football. Then wait a few weeks and do it again against UNOC, Sac State, and msu. Am I happy..nope!
Am I frustrated……yep! By I think I’ll stick around.

Since you indicate a sensitivity to finances, how do you fund such a midyear firing of the whole staff? Large $ not well spent.

I wish I was only making the trip from the eastern side fo the state... try flying in from Texas for every home game. Travel logistics aside the time commitment is a lot easier to digest when you feel you are in store for a great game regardless of the opponent. That said win or lose ... I'm still in...too much love for the Griz to throw it all away after one digression. I travel because of the attitude, swagger and game day environment...Please keep my little bit of heaven intact.

GrizTexas you are to be commended for your loyalty to the players. You definitely walk the walk, my man.

How’s it gonna look when we’re 3-7 and the stadium is full of ‘Scat fans on the 18th of November?

This entire staff is done on 12/31. It wouldn’t cost too much to just clean house and move along. But I’m sure you’re still solidly in Hauck’s corner and believe that this was just an aberration.

They’ll beat ISU and everyone will say “see, just an aberration, calm down! Everything is gonna be A-ok!” And then, if we’re lucky, there’ll be ONE more win on the rest of the schedule. 5-6 is absolute tops for this team based on their performance to date.

Those who are mocking or insulting those who no longer want to spend money on what many are viewing as a failure by this coaching staff are, frankly, assholes. Why should people spend in some cases thousands of dollars to watch a team we all love and support underperform due to poor leadership/coaching?

That doesn't make them bad fans, it's simply choosing to voice their displeasure in the only way the University will listen. You can support the team/players and make a statement at the same time. Need to get off your high horses if you think you're somehow better then those who are simply tired of lies and want change, especially in how rough this economy is.

If you can point me to people mocking and insulting people for not wanting to spend their money, I'd certainly agree with you. Nobody should be mocked or insulted for not wanting to spend their money however they feel like spending their money.

I haven't personally seen anyone mocked or insulted for it, but I don't click into every thread. I've seen a lot of people raging about the staff and the players (with a solid degree of validity to their complaints about the last game), and saying that they are done with the program. I've seen a separate group of people say they they will not give up on supporting the kids or the team, regardless of results, and will still show up and cheer their asses off. I'm in that camp, but I haven't seen anyone personally attacking those who are choosing not to spend money to attend.

I won't be waking up in the middle of the night to listen to or watch the games online. While it does not cost me money, I won't be trading sleep time to listen to or watch boring football. There isn't much to be excited about. Sports are entertainment, and there is nothing entertaining about Bobby ball.

Perfectly put

There's an interesting mindset here, on the part of some, that if you buy tickets or t-shirts and whatnot that you are somehow entitled to only see winning games and championship seasons and also entitled to lash out like a petulant child if it doesn't happen every time, every game, every season. I love wins and so does the team. Doesn't always go that way. The wheel turns and the road goes on and on.

We’ve definitely changed our plans. Instead of departing Washington after 5:00 pm on Friday nights, we now leave at noon on Friday as it gives us more time to enjoy Missoula and spend time with family and friends.
I get it, fandom isn’t for everyone. I still root for the Dallas Cowboys (which according to cat trolls makes me a “Walmart” fan because I didn’t attend college in Dallas) and they’ve underperformed for years. I have a soft spot for the KC Royals as they were the first MLB team I saw live when my dad lived in Kansas. I must say, it was pretty damn cool to see George Brett play given I was 10 year old Montana kid at the time.
We’ve had season tickets since 95 when the endzone seating was constructed, sat in the grass and student section in prior years. We relocated to Washington in 96 and have missed maybe 4 home games since. My family is far from unique. We have friends who are season ticket holders who drive many more miles than we do, some fly from out of state to attend games. The common theme amongst us is we watch the Griz because we love college football, the city of Missoula and most of all UM. Sure it would be a lot cheaper and easier to become a WSU fan but it’s not the same. Fall Saturdays in Missoula are special…regardless of the outcome.
Bobby likes to say winning is hard, losing is easy. Being a fan is often hard and full of disappointment, jumping on and off the bandwagon is easy. The stadium on the other side of the divide was empty for years with the exception of the diehard fans, now you can see “Walmart” celebrity golfers and rodeo clowns.
Go Griz!!

See ya Saturday morning!

I have 5 tickets to the brawl and if I don’t see major improvement within the next few weeks I’m sure as hell not going to spend a couple grand to watch us get our dicks kicked in by the cats.

Hey, I will buy all 5. Serious. DM me, will pay ya face value or whatever.

That team that showed up in Flagstaff didn’t look like it gave two shits about winning. Nor did the coaches. Accept mediocrity if you like, but I can get THAT for free.

Well at best we’re gonna be 5-5, but if that makes you feel better, you do you.

True, but only because UM won't sell enough tickets to Cat fans! Griz are going to bounce back and win some games, starting Saturday. If I were a betting man I'd say at least 3 more wins and likely more than that.

really? Who do you think bought all of those 3 game “season ticket “ packages they lead to “record season ticket sales”?
