I'd bet that whichever one wins will end up in the play-in game -- and deservedly so. With a conference like the Big Sky, it's really too bad when the season's best team doesn't win at the end. The other teams are just basically cannon fodder for some #1 seed.

If MSU wins, definitely the Play-In game. If PSU wins they have enough decent wins to avoid the play-in game, but still likely a 16 seed, possibly a 15 just based on beating Gonzaga.

You are right..In an admittedly cynical frame of mind, I am grateful that UM is not in this years NCAA tourney.....I suspect the BSC rep will be up against North Carolina, or Pittsburgh, and end up with another 30+ point loss....Since I could care less about MSU or Portland, let them be the patsy....Maybe next year, this team can find what it takes to be at least moderately good in a consistent way.....Go Bruins, Huskies...anyone in the WEST!

I would like to see the Cats represent, however, in the Tourney you want the team that has the best chance to do well. With Weber going down I would say that would be PSU becuase of their quality wins over two conference champions and the Big Sky's best chance not to get in the play-in game.

PSU would likely have a better seed. Ranked around #122 in RPI. MSU is ranked around #222.

But, MSU's strength of schedule is better than PSU's. MSU SOS is ranked around #273, and PSU SOS is ranked around #283. Neither is that great, and 273 versus 283 isn't that big of a difference.
I think whichever team gets in will be seeded 16th.

I voted for Weber in the poll, but when i started watching the game last night I found myself rooting for the cats. When Bynum threw down that dunk I actually jumped out of my chair with excitment. Go Cats beat PSU!

Portland all the way!
