So this spring the coaches claimed they were bring in the weight by fall camp. Who are new heavy's? Also is any new player coming for fall camp besides the heavy's?

Depending on drop offs going into the summer, our roster is pretty full. I counted 114 total players compared to 109 from 2026. My count includes:
-All players on the official 2026 numeric roster. (87)
-All incoming freshmen announced as part of the 2026 recruiting class. (21) I also included Hudson Schraeder who was announced but isnt on Payton's List
-Wallace, Tupou, and Sandford who are spring/summer transfers but are not on the online numeric/TBD roster.
-I also included Jaquwan Breckenridge, Walter James, and Ka'onohi Casco who were on the spring game roster, but do not appear on the online numerical/tbd roster.
I would guess that we need to be down to 109, but I am not sure if we had gray-shirts that were part of the roster that I didn't know about.

Why do you say down to 109? Grandfathered walk-ons? I am just asking. I don’t know.

I am pretty much going off the roster size from 2025. When UM opted into the house settlement it was allowed to tag players over the 105 limit. That number increased the UM roster size to 114. So I guess we can carry 114 as long as all those tagged players remain on the roster.I think it has shrunk due to tagged players leaving the team.

as we near the opening of fall camp I suppose it would be hard to tell who is here and who is not until we see them. Just thought maybe someone had some forward incite.

Well you need a QB, a RB, a couple WR, a couple LB's, and four DB's. Whats that leave, like 87 spots available for fattys?

Fatties wear out pretty quick. I would say in 4 quarters we need 12 starters for the o line and maybe as many on the d line. Looking at the roster there appears to be ALOT of recruits just taking up space. Maybe we could send them in and if they don't cut the mustard send them home to momma.
