Who’s our best backup RB?

Also if this is the case, with modern science he could be back by conference games in October. Really unfortunate if true still going to hold out hope it is not.

At Griz Softball today, some were saying it's a knee and he is lost for the Fall season.
God that sucks. Can we get it done with Ostmo, Turner and Harris, or do we need to bring in a transfer now?
There is a big gap between MK and the others. Haven't seen Harris, but the ceilings for Ostmo and Turner are far lower that MK, who is a unique talent with breakaway capability. This will put more pressure on the passing game.

I doubt they will push him like that.

I ignored this thread until now, thinking 'who the hell cares.' Christ! What the hell happened??? I know Bobby is notoriously tight lipped about injuries, complicated by HIPPA, but WHAT THE F*CK HAPPENED???

ACL's happen in college football.

Thank you, Mr. Obvious.

Well Bobby said on the podcast that Marcus was a bit banged up. A poster on here is saying it is a torn ACL and done for the year including next Fall. This person learned it from a football player parent at the Griz softball game. That is what we know. It could very well be true but also maybe not so I’m in wait and see mode. I think MK is at least out for Spring.

I feel like Ostmo is the guy now. He is obviously different from Knight. I don't think he is as complete of a back, but he can certainly move the ball. Turner may get some good looks now as the obvious number two back because of his size. A dark horse for some touches is Ryan Arntson. Compact kid who reminds me of Peter Nguyen.

Xavier Harris was a three star recruit out of Oxnard, CA. Look at his insane high school stats. He is one I'm looking forward to watching. Along with his high school buddy WR Aaron Fontes. Ostmo was a stud as a true freshman. Now I'm sure he is stronger and faster and more confident. I would say the same thing about the O Line being much better. I feel bad for Knight..great player but I think we will ok.

You don’t just replace an all league player. We will take a substantial step back at RB this spring. Hopefully by fall we will have a solid back but our run game expectations should be knocked down quite a bit. Hopefully the improved oline also hides some of the discrepancy

When we win the National Championship, we can say, "Imagine how good we would have been if Knight would have been healthy!"

What about Garrett Graves? I haven't heard a word about him.

Well, since Graves was moved from RB clear back in 2019, you probably wouldn't in this thread about the position.

I remember the move and thought it to be a mistake at the time. Graves looked really good the year prior running the ball. Thought he might get the chance?

He is listed as the back-up nickel this week.

Very unfortunate, I feel bad for the kid. He is one of the better backs we've had at UM. That says a lot, we have had some outstanding rbs. Really hope he heals fast and gets back on the field!! He's definitely not someone you can just replace at this level.
