90- 80. Game. On to the next.
What news of Anderson redshirting?mtgrizrule said:I just finished watching the game at gogriz.com. Rorie and Wright took that game over in the 2nd half. They were terrific in the 2nd half. Gfeller did not get much time, and his shot looks off, just as it did in the scrimmage I saw. Pridgett is a terrific passer, and great overall talent. I am so impressed with his versatility, awareness, and athleticism. Speaking of athleticism, the dunk Rorie tried to throw down in traffic was terrific. Too bad he got fouled and missed it. He is the most athletic guard the GRIZ have ever had. Oguine is athletic as well too, but he is not built like Rorie. Rorie got a lot more minutes than I expected. Then again, he is one hell of a player. Hard to believe, a talent like Dunn may be our 4th guard (Rorie, Oguine, Wright, and Dunn) This team will play much quicker when Oguine returns.
Moorehead and Lopez are dangerous shooters as well. Lopez plays within himself and the system well. Moorehead has not conscience, that kid will make a lot of big shots in his career. Solid numbers for Krslovic, but he needs become more of an offensive threat.
Offensively, the GRIZ need to take better care of the ball. Those turnovers were what kept Whitworth in the game. Whitworth is damn impressive in how they move the ball around though. They will be a hell of a team at their level.
I was also a little disappointed in a few too many defensive breakdowns. The turnovers and defensive breakdowns will diminish as the season progresses though. Unfortunately, the news of Alphonso Anderson redshirting will take away from the frontcourt depth, especially rebounding. Then again, in the long run, that move will help the program and himself.
I cannot wait to see how we perform against USC. They will need to hit a very high % from 3 and execute the offense consistently.

I was at the game and missed the radio broadcast. If true, the Griz will be real thin up front this year. Furthermore, from what I saw last night, inside scoring from bigs will be minimal. All of this leads me to believe we will see lots of smaller line ups given the Griz strength at guard. I suspect we will see lots of Pridgett and Moorehead at the four along with Lopez at the five.mtgrizrule said:GrizWhiz said:What news of Anderson redshirting?mtgrizrule said:I just finished watching the game at gogriz.com. That's the rumor. If you listen to the radio broadcast, it is mentioned during the game.

I agree. With this schedule and without Anderson, I don't see us competing with the bigs at USC (two projected to go in the first two rounds of the next NBA draft) or Oregon, let alone N.C. State or even Weber in our own conference. I believe we're now clearly a year away.
By the way, I'll be at the USC game with by good friend from North Carolina, a dyed-in-the-heart Tarheel fan. He has agreed to root for us, at the threat of my rescinding his ticket. So in effect, Montana/Tarheel will be there.
USC is going to be a good game and if the Griz can hit the three, they might pull this off but SC is saying they are emphasizing an up and down run game. I'd like to be there. I will be at Ole Miss and I think it will be a good crowd as they are not charging anyone for tickets..they are FREE.MtTarheel said:citay said:MtTarheel said:Anderson redshirting certainly is a blow this year but will pay major dividends down the road.
