Which QB has better mobility?

I would rather just start Jensen and get 4 years out of him even if he has to struggle the first year. Let him get all the learning he needs on the field. That was by his JR and SR seasons you would likely have a qb ready to compete for chippers!

I agree with you but only if he is the best option and the best QB of the group this year. If Hill or Phillips is better this year then obviously they should start.

I think Stitt is looking to have a guy that can be a multi-year starter, which is why I think Phillips is nothing but the #2 at best.

I've seen some video of Hill running. For a big guy he's pretty darn mobile and not afraid to lower a shoulder on a dback. I watched Jensen play a couple games on TV and that kid ran extremely well. There were lots of designed read options from a similar style of offense and he ran it extremely well.

Any link to some highlights or video of Hill?

I would love to see Gresch take over the starting spot in convincing fashion. Having all 4 years to build rapport and chemistry with the rest of the offense. I am definitely pulling for him.

One of the things that I really like from Gresch's Hudl is that he senses pressure and avoids it seamlessly while keeping his eyes down field. He can also absorb or lean away from pressure while delivering the ball with finesse and touch. I am high on this guy yo! Uuuuhhhhh and he played both ways..... so we know he is tough too.

Here are some

Hill has a damn quick release and can just flick it for 40 yards. I think he will compete. Also the first time I have heard f**K in a highlight video.

Hill will probably start...or Phillips...or Jensen. I'm pretty sure it'll be one of these guys. Seriously folks, like to see Jensen given the chance to play 4 years like Gobrud at EWU. He's got the skills to run this offense. Hope he's not passed over for being a red shirt freshman! Also, like to see Dick given a shot! Seems like we had another shorter QB Who turned out all right. Had "Dick" in his name too.

Ha! Yes, if you listen closely, there's commentary about the players throughout Hill's highlight video. I'm guessing this was compiled from video that the team recorded?

Hope all these people wanting Jensen to get the start just so we can have a four-year starter are also wanting Stitt to get an extension after this season no matter what.

I just want the best QB to start, and I don't care who it is.

Just watched that video and can he throw that ball ! but then he did have about 6 sec to do it. That will be a big adjustment for him. Got to say that video was "down home" and for that he gets points.

QB mobility seemed not a requirement of Stitt's system, with his going w/ BG. Frankly, I don't know what Stitt's "system" requires in a QB. (Or any other position, for that matter.)

Not a requirement but certainly a plus. Hill, Jensen, Dick, and Wilson are all very athletic guys who can hurt teams with their legs.

Maybe none of these QBs can run Stitt's System?
We may have to wait a few more years for Stitt to recruit the ideal QB?

There's a thought.

Knowing a Griz QB is a running threat makes a DC keep more personnel closer to the line of scrimmage and less in coverage, or at least deep coverage, and/or scale back DL rush. Gives QB more time to throw,and/or opens more down field routes, which was a complaint about BG (not throwing.) Stitt's offense is based on multiple options and the QB running with the ball was an option not in BG's box of tricks. I believe we will see much better and versatile QB play this year.

On another subject, given that MSU's QB couldn't hit the shitpond from 5 yards I still don't know how run defense wasn't played every down.

Well, Stitt had engineer QBs at Mines, so what does he want: a QB that can run his "multiple-option" O, or a kid who can make a play almost every time, regardless?

IOW, is Stitt's offense so complicated that only an engineering major can figure it out?

As an engineer I appreciate the compliment....but i think you're blowing it out of proportion. We're not all THAT special.

A lot of people look at engineering and immediately assume intelligence, and in this case fans think it takes a math whiz to run his system. How much math is involved in making pre-snap reads? I'm not a coach but I'd imagine it's all 1s vs 2s (i.e common sense). I think the biggest thing Stitt looks for is someone that can recognize the 1s and 2s very quickly...someone who sees and reacts quickly, decisive. Learning the offense doesn't have to come immediately....Dick and Wilson will have a couple years to do that....no big deal. And word has it Jensen is a bright kid with a lot of confidence on the field.

It won't take a genius, just someone who makes the right reads quickly and acts decisively.
