Keeping with tradition, which bub quarterback quits on his team following the humiliation he's about to recieve on Saturday?

With a nod to McDowell, shouldn't there be an option like, "Cats have a QB?" or better yet, "Cats (or whatever you call them)? Never heard of them..."

My bad. We'll get those mistakes cleaned up by next week.

Notice that nobody voted for Mellot, because there is no quit in Butte! There is also no safe place for a duck to land but that's a different issue.

The Cats two main "quarterbacks" (am I saying that correctly?) are majoring in Liberal Studies ( I assume either how to be one or why be one?) and Financial Engineering, which sounds like something your accountant engages in before the IRS kicks in the door.

Yup, scats need to have a QB before one can quit. We chased the last QB they had away so they gave up trying to keep one.

Their QB situation is tough because both pose as running backs that pretend to throw. If there is a tradition brewing in Bozo it is definitely in this realm.

But hey, there are some identity issues in Bozeman (Bozeman identifying as Californian), so this just correlates with the culture.

In typical Giss fan imagination of what constitutes a "tradition".... zero conference championships in 13 years... "the tradition continues"..... zero 2nd round wins in 13 years.. "the tradition continues".... zero visits to the championship game in 13 years.. "the tradition continues"... 1 win in the last 6 years of Cat/Griz... "the tradition continues".... keep it up boys!!

Kinda crazy we’ve each had a QB quit on their team the last two brawls… LJ bowed out when the game got away in the third. McKay the year prior

Better hope it isn't Mellott that quits this time. That is actually my vote, and I know you will tell me I am insane and that TDT is a super hero. But he will be the one that breaks.

Big day for our bet! Come Monday, only one of us will be here. Worst of luck to you and the Cats, lol.

So this made me curious, because I’ve seen Bobcat fans on Twitter post about how much better they are at passing. Thought I would compare.

MSU: 187 ypg, 17:2 TD:INT, 60% completion, 9 YPA

McDowell (only the games he’s started, didn’t seem fair to include Vidlak): 167.5 YPG, 8:1 TD:INT, 58% completion, 8.4 YPA

Seems pretty even passing wise to me.

Tommy is probably the most gracious players on both sides of the ball, probably the toughest mentally too. That is a wild one to put your odds on. But if you have a dollar to spare on +10000 odds why not…

My money is on the UM o-line, very NAU-like game I bet for them. Next would be the “battle of the brawl guy”

Likewise, Elrod :)

I want to be incredibly clear here -- Tommy Mellot is a class act. He is gracious, he is kind. I ran into him while I was walking my dog one time last spring, and he was a great kid then, too. From everything I know about him on the field and off, he is the kind of person that I would like my daughter to marry, and that is the highest compliment I can give a man. I truly mean that, and I wish him all the best in the world for every day in his life to come, other than on Saturdays when he plays against he Montana Grizzlies.

I also think he breaks on Saturday. I don't want him to be hurt or anything, I rarely wish that on anyone. But I think he is the one that is over it by the end of this game.

Yeah I mean I guess that’s like… your opinion, dream on brother! I can’t stop you.

Well, you know what they say, opinions are like assholes and mine is bigger than yours. Or something.

Merlot should retire as his build is not conducive to his playing style. Multiple concussions waiting to happen. He's a smart kid.
