Where's Coach Stitt's offense?

Stalled drives and field goals is what i saw a whole lot of? Defense won that game, they looked a lot better this week. Like I said when Gus gets back it'll get rolling again, Chalich sucks we need that Billings West boy slingin the rock around the yard.
Chalich gets his first start and its a win yet he "sucks"? Unreal. Not even credible enough to rise to the level of armchair QB'ing. What you got in that peace pipe Chief?

Yep. In his first start, Chalich goes 29/45, 279 yards, 1 TD and yet he sucks...

^ Exactly, pretty pedestrian numbers to me...jus sayin, tons of stalled drives thank god our defense came to play.

First, JayLarson has it all figured out, when does he start coaching the Griz???????

Secondly, The_Real_Chief must have missed the Cal-Poly and beginning of the Liberty games...I saw many stalled drives and field goals with Brady lining up behind center.....not sure if I would say that the offense was rolling...

No Gus=Equals lower offensive output simple as that, hope he gets healthy SOON or it could be a long season

I missed the game last Saturday, did we win?

No, sadly we lost. I went to the game, as I was leaving at the end, I looked at the scoreboard. We had more points than NAU and I mistakenly thought that meant the Griz had won the game. Then I come on e-Griz and learn from the e-Griz coaching staff that our QB sucked, our HC/OC sucked, our running game sucked. So apparently having more points than the other team isn't important as I thought.

Griz inability to run in the red zone and on short yardage is why the run game sucked....yards are almost a bloated stat in college football anymore...it is all about points per game, red zone scoring, turnovers, and 3rd downs....

Outscoring your opponents is a highly over-rated statistic. What matters is the grade the Russian judge gives.

Maybe after Stitt is done here hahaha

If the center snaps are going to have to be of the slower floating type will Stitt have the QB lineup in more of a pistol than shotgun, and maybe have to call plays instead of plays that have run pass options to give him more time to see the defense with the slower snap? I know it is not coach's style but it may have to be done. However, the last drive by our offense Saturday should be what we focus on for positives.

Another thing I liked was the outside passes to JJ and EH they were not really a curl and not an out, but it allowed them to catch the ball without having to stop and start running again and it was extremely successful.

Sit back and enjoy the ride. It is going to be a rollercoaster this year. My expectations for this season are lower than some with a great deal of hope for the future. This is the first season of a process that will lead to big things in the future. I, like many others, are hoping things will click with the QBs and the line, especially center. We may still have a great season but the big rewards will start next year in my opinion.
We lose most of your defensive starters next year. It is the defense that is holding us together this year. It will put enormous pressure on the offense next year.

You are an idiot.

I am getting sick of hearing this getting players for his scheme. Henderson and Jones are two of the best receivers in the nation, just get them the ball as much as possible! If we can't get wins with the guys we have, how could he possibly find guys that are better? I see too much focus on getting number 5 the ball, he cannot break tackles. Did anyone see what happened when Jamal caught a screen, he ran through a tackle and broke another as he was heading out of bounds. Huge difference between him getting it and chase
Agree, and the "everything will be really good by next year" crowd seems to miss the point that our good defense will be decimated by graduations next year.

All he did was point out the intuitively obvious.

Honest question.......people say when he gets his guys that fit his offense. Are you talking about line, skill, QB? Is this team just here to play a schedule until he gets his guys? Just my observation but there is a lot of talent on the field and a "innovative" coach with such high accolades should be able to put the ball in the end zone more than 20% of the time when he's in the red zone.

Gotta love a good insult but no reason why? No point to backup your assertion just an insult haha

Pretty obvious it was the bolded part....also funny you want him to backup his assertion but it is OK for you to let them fly the same way....nice....

Touche...I'm not a fan of Chalich, I think Gus gives us a much better chance to win. Chalich does throw as pretty of a ball as Gus, however he can make plays with his feet, but as others have stated I feel like he gets happy feet back there to much sometimes.

Think I will hold off on the Brady love affair until he can play another game similar to UNDSU and not Cal Poly... Over the past 3 games, production by BG was not any better than Chalich....even though Chalich has to run the "dumbed down" version of the offense as so many want to continually point out....

If our offense is so predicated on the "right qb" to run it effectively we could find ourselves short handed whenever injury happens to qb.

I also believe that as time goes by more and more film comes available and teams figure out containment. It is already happening. These gimmick offenses usually get solved over time and in my view the old school run pass balance is most sustainable over the long haul. Consistent and sustainable works.

Huh. I guess I've never viewed Stitt's offense as "gimmick". I'd argue that Read's offense was more "gimmicky" than Stitt's. Stitt wants to be fairly run/pass balanced; where he tries to get an advantage is with formation, motion and speed of offense.
