Where we now???? (Not just a Hauck Thread)

So here's what we KNOW for certain.

Baldwin isn't a finalist for the job.

That's IT..That's all we KNOW....LOL.

No really though, what else do we absolutely KNOW? We all have our sources, but what is set in stone at this point?

Stitt is a legit candidate, who a few guys insist has already been hired.

Ty Gregorak is a legit candidate, others are claiming he's already agreed to continue on as the DC for Stitt. I'll say, I've heard just the opposite. That it's HC or nothing for Ty at this point.

Bobby seems to be the biggest mystery still. I know for a fact he initiated contact with Haslam. I know for a fact, he did not resign ONLY to do that. He was going to be fired eventually, and if you ask him, he'll tell you that. BH is a very direct and honest guy. I also know that Montana isn't the only football program he's been in contact with. We've heard so many different things since he was officially done at UNLV, from that he's already been hired to he's not interested, to members of the B.O.R. having already told Kent he won't be allowed to be hired. If I'm forgetting anything on BH, please feel free to add. I will say, If I was getting to choose, I would have hired Bobby and announced it last night. I know AG1 hates me for that, but I honestly think an older, a little more humble, and a little more rich Bobby, combined with where UM is heading, could absolutely destroy the Big Sky Conference and it wouldn't take long. But that's just me.

Then there's Blankenship and Vigen. Are they both seeking the same job, or are they a package deal? Blankenship is an interesting guy. Could he be UM's Joe Moglia?

I have no idea what's going on with Brent Pease other than that Kent met with him in Spokane before the Apple Cup. I thought this time around, Pease was a real threat to be the leading candidate for this job, but I also thought money would be the reason he doesn't go after it.

So, is that where we're at now? Or am I forgetting anybody? Please, feel free to chime in and you don't need to name your sources, as I didn't mine.

And while we're on the subject of coaching, it looks like MSU-Northern's head coach will NOT be from the Montana high school ranks. Early rumors were that both Grady Bennett and Troy Purcell were going to apply, but that never ended up happening. MSU-N will be announcing the finalists in the coming days.

I was wondering about Pease too. But all I know is I don't know sh*t about what's going on. It'll be interesting to watch eGriz once the coach is announced. Half will be ready to place a crown on that person's head and the other half will be jumping off the nearest cliff while sticking a fork in their eye.

I can think of more reasons why BH WOULD NOT want to come back to Missoula vs why he would. I ask myself why would he. Been there done that, money, expectations, bad rap from Griz Nation, I can get a job as a OC or PC at the FBS level and get paid more now (earnings very limited at UM), staying in the FBS will be overall best for future earnings. Again.... been there done that and don't want to be downwardly mobile.

I can tell you it is not going to be Hauck, Pease, MM or Baldwin. What do you guys say on here?

Take that to the bank or done deal?

Unless your real name is Kent Haslam...
Poppycock.

I'm pretty sure it will be Baldwin, but first UM will announce they are moving to FBS to insure all Baldwin's media quotes are accurate ;)

We need to hire Hauck, post it on here, on Facebook and picstogram. Get the word out! Montana wants Bobby back right now!

Don’t like the Hauck idea at all.

My son played during the Hauck years, and Hauck treated him poorly. He was rude and demeaning. My son, who was only 49 years old at the time, still has nightmares about it. Never in my 36 years on this earth have I been so frustrated.

Got a nephew that played for Hauck back in the 80’s that had the same experience.

1897-98? Was his name Basil? I think we played there at the same time...

For entertainment purposes, TG would be a great hire. Egriz would be a mosh pit for a few years at least....

While this may well be true, many of us cope with similar desires each and every day while reading eGriz....

Then you must know the Coriander Twins, Thyme and Tarragon. They both initially signed on to play for Hauck that year. Thyme got arrested for cyber stalking Norman Maclean's mom, and Tarragon got wounded in Normandy. To this day, they were the fastest seven-year-olds I've seen since the Reagan administration.

And here I thought Coriander was spelled with 2 T's
