When it's official that Coach K is leaving for Pepperdine,

No.

Huse would be a good coach over there, yes, but he'll also be a good coach here in Bozeman. I'd say keep Wayne Tinkle as the head coach.

if Krysko leaves the job should be Tinks, and he will do a fine job - the last 2 years will be a tough act to follow (even for Krysko if he stays), but I am confident Tinkle can get the job done if LK leaves.

So if (and it's only an if at this point) LK leaves, do griz fans have no problem just automatically elevating Tinkle to Head Coach, assuming he wants to stay & take it, without any kind of search process?

If LK leaves, promote Wayne immediately! No interim status (given the one year contracts the interim label is redundant and hurts the program in terms of recruiting and otherwise.) If your program is back on it's way up, an interim label pinned on the head coach is destabilizing and flat out makes makes no sense! Also, Wayne is an outstanding coach and an absolutley exemplary human being. I think the players who are currently with the program would really be pulling for Wayne. We have promoted from within in the past when the program was doing well (e.g. Morrill, Taylor) and going through the process of interviews etc. would IMHO be a slap in the face to the players and Wayne. :twocents:

Not going anywhere until at the earliest next year. This does good things for him in the future but he is a griz and will want to see his recruits take him to the sweet sixteen next year.

E_G,

If he does leave, Tinks has paid his dues, give him the reigns, maybe he could do something coach K never could, get the Griz to host the Big Sky tourney!
