When is it going to leak out or get announced that Vigen is departing?

Scuttlebut though inside the program is Choate, Vigen, Polasek and some assistant from USC were already contacted today and asked if they would consider the position. That is from a kid (friends son) though on the team so it is all just rumor

Choate was there for a NY minute and was gone. If having been a short term position coach qualifies as a Cougar Man then so be it. And his history of job hopping to elevate himself is well documented. WSU isn’t his dream job. If WSU is happy with 3 years max, assuming he can win and he hasn’t exactly proven that at Nevada, then it might be the best they can do. He’s not going to be hampered by any playoffs or bowl game, so would be immediately available.

Well, if gone-again Choate leaves Reno - then - I really hope that the big Glacier High School kid considers leaving and wants to be a Griz.

The fact that they’re considering Choate is just sad. Have they not seen how things are going for him at Nevada?
 
Jeff Banks Texas assistant head coach is a name I heard about today. WSU likes that he has coached and has connections to build a great staff all over the country and he is a former WSU player.
 
Why doesn’t Vigen ever get these jobs he seems to be applying for? A million more $ per year, I would be out of Bozeman in a flash regardless if my current team was in a tournament.

Not knowing anything I would say the internals are not good.

He has to be offered the job to take the job. He has very limited low level FBS experience. I know this is one hang up from WSU as well as their worry that he will pull a Jimmy Rodgers due to not having ties to the program.

You’re not wrong there. What I have heard is WSU is going to try to do what they can to avoid it happening 2 years in a row by hiring someone with ties to the program for this cycle.
