When Fife gets a full game

So I’m sure most have noticed that the offense was pretty productive when Ah Yat was injured and Fife played all or the major majority of 3 games. I’m sure most have also noticed that the offense was not quite as productive when Ah Yat and Fife split reps. I know it’s been talked about briefly here in eGriz. Being curious just how different the QB play was, I decided to compare stats of the six games the QB’s split to the three games that Fife was the main guy. Here’s the average per game stat line for the two.

Ah Yat/Fife
19/30 190 yards 1TD 1INT 63%

Fife only
25/37 302 yards 2.6TD 0INT 68%

In the broadcast Marty had said that Pease was working on Ah Yat’s issue of staring down a receiver. Maybe this is a week that Ah Yat should only work on that on the practice field and not the playing field and let Fife have a whole game where he obviously elevates the offense.

What dream world do you live in?

I would rate the chances of Fife playing a full game against UCD at about 98%.
Exceptions:
1)we are winning by a lot
2) injury
3) he has to change his shorts

Only way we beat CD is if Ah Yat plays the whole game
I’m not gonna argue with you there. The underlying truth to my post isn’t that Fife is the man, it’s that the rotation is messing with the rhythm of the offense. Earlier in the year Ah Yat had most a game where Fife only played 2 series going 1/3. Of course we lost that game, largely due to the inability to generate a first down but I think Ah Yat has grown some since then and I think he could be very successful if he was able to play start to finish.

Fife needs to play. Ah Yat has a huge upside, but the offense has a different dynamic and flows better when Fife is consistently taking snaps. Fife also seems more consistent when game pressure is bearing down, not just pressure on a given play. Fife gives UM the best chance to win.
I keep hearing this, but I'm not sold.

Enjoy that L did ya? Did you also enjoy the social media drama by the locker room crybaby?
I think you care about that a lot more than anyone in the locker room cared about that. Everybody is pissed after a loss. Sometimes things even get said in the locker room after a loss, and people regret them. Hell, Mack Brown made his players vote to keep him after a loss this year.

I had some drinks with a group of the parents of Davis players at Finns this past weekend. They said the rumor is that Fife is coming there next year to get closer to home.

I hope Fife gets at least a 1/2 game (1st half) exposure for the Portland State game. If he does well with-in his time in the game I hope he continues to stay in.
