Big G,

Nothing personal man. I only said drop the act, because I assumed you could not possibly be that naïve. Bad assumption on my part.

Bottom line, you can argue a few of these either way, but to say 8 out of 11 and 9 out of 11 is complete, moronic nonsense. Even the most irrational, shit talking cat fan would not agree with that.

Carry on.

Thanks, sorry for having my own opinion. If I can go back and amend part of what I posted. I was talking about current players for this weekends game. I excluded Van and Counts because they are injured. If this were straight up players at 100% then I would change my numbers but until then I will stick with what I said because I am not that fair off as it is.

You guys getting bent out of shape over this show what you know about football could almost fill a thimble.
In what few positions do you see the Griz having the edge? 8-)

If I were to look at this objectively (just my opinion here):

QB: slight advantage Griz, I think a healthy-ish JJ is better than the current banged up McGhee. If McGhee were at or near full health I'd give him the slight advantage.

RB: slight advantage Griz IF Van is back. Both teams are banged up at running back, Kirk and Johnson did not look healthy against SUU, meanwhile Canada had a nice rebound but we've not seen Van in 3 weeks now. If all were healthy I'd say it's maybe a wash Canada/Van vs Kirk/Johnson... tough call there, but for now a Canada/Van mix vs a dinged up Kirk/Johnson is slight strength.

WR: Toss up. Hear me out on this. Henderson is the best WR on the field, IMO, but I think the group of Bleskin/Floetkotter/Ellis are a more diverse and consistent group than Henderson/Jones/Warren. While the Griz WRs have the most talent in a single player I believe MSU holds the better mix of "top 3" WRs.

TE: Tough to say. UM's TEs are used in the offense as pass-catchers where MSU's are largely for blocking.

OL: Not sure. On paper the Griz have the better O-line but we've seen such inconsistency here I'm just not sure who holds the advantage.

DL: Either a toss up or slight Griz advantage. Just like the WRs discussion, I think the Griz have the better unit across the board but the Cats clearly have the best single player (Daly).

LBs: Griz. That ones fairly easy, however the current Cat LBs have done a pretty good job overall.

Secondary: Griz, slightly. Mostly due to the Cats secondary being so banged up.

Kicker: Uh... none of the above? Ha, probably even here

Punter: I think Griz, don't have the stats in front of me but I think Shaw has a better average than MSU's punter

KR/PR: Again overall health has me leaning to saying the Griz have an advantage, Ellis Henderson should be full speed and ready to go, Shawn Johnson... just not sure. If both were fully healthy I'd say it's a toss-up.

Coaching: This one is a tough call. Ash is under fire of course for continually struggling in big games, however his staff carries much more experience and familiarity with this big of a game. His got some new coordinators that aren't being held in the best regards. On the other side the Griz have coaches that for the most part are very new to their jobs. Additionally under Mick Delaney the Griz have not beat a team with winning record when they faced off. Based on just experience and stability I'd give a slight edge to MSU.

Intangibles: Slight edge to MSU again. Home game, backs against the wall, senior day. Lots to play for. Griz are presumably in the playoffs although I doubt anyone is over-looking the Cats because there's a lot riding on a Griz win as well. Griz on the road have had more defensive struggles as well.

I agree with all of this Brint, with perhaps an exception at punter. Perez/Bolton have both been pretty effective in the varying roles.

I am still trying to figure out how the Griz won 9 games if they are as terrible position by position as Big G says. I think his post is a "Told You So Post". If MSU wins, he will be back to prove how correct he was in his analysis, but if UM wins, Big G will disappear either until the Griz lose again or next year.
Please provide a post of mine that said the Griz are terrible.

When you cannot do this I would like a formal apology issued. My thoughts on the game are quite the opposite from the words you are putting in my mouth. This years squad is a roller coaster that has not put together 4 consecutive quarters yet. If and when they do they will be a hard out in the playoffs if they get there. You people need to chillax and quit implying things that are not there.

Big G, this statement makes the Griz sound pretty dismal: "Yes the Cats are banged up but they are still better player for player at 9 of the positions on offense and 8 on defense."

Or maybe I miss understood and the Cats are the standard that all other teams are measured...I mean, no one has close come to beating the Cats...I already see the shirts.."Bobcats, the Gold Standard of the Big Sky Conference!"

I am just not sure how the Griz have any chance being so out-manned at every position but apparently punter and kicker...did I miss any?

This was exactly the moronic, ignoramus statement that started this banter, which in hindsight, was probably the intent.

Once again where did I say we are out manned at every position other than punter and kicker? Please stop misrepresenting my post. It is what it is, its honest and its my opinion on the subject. None of you are providing any thing to disputing my comments other than personal assaults and accusing me of saying things I clearly never said.

Apology accepted.

We try not to argue with idiots....they bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience. You are exhibit A of that theory.

Big G, you can try to twist your words, your statements anyway you want, but we all have figured you out. Not sure how we misrepresented your post, you clearly stated that MSU was better at 17 positions and the only positions you were specific about, where the Griz are better, were punter and kicker.

Also, I am not apologizing to you for anything.

I have been a Griz fan since before you were born. Recent relatives of mine have played for the Griz in the last few years and I go to all their games home and most of the away games I can fit in around running the farm. Do not question my loyalty, passion and philanthropic ties to a team I have loved all my life.

Uhhh, yeah, ok. Nice try, huh?

Good detective work. I've felt like his posts smell like Cat comments too.

I like your comment that all of the Cat -o-linemen are better than all but Kistler, despite that even Cat fans have thought all along that o-line is a weak spot for the Cats. Do you even watch the games? Looks like you don't even follow UM or MSU football.

Sure preseason our OL was supposed to be the strength of the Griz team and its been pretty downhill ever since. You are correct that the Cats thought their OL was going to be a weakness but they have preformed better than expected so the lines intersect at pretty average. You have your opinion and I believe you are wrong. You always error on the side of the players and talk them up more than most so that proves I am dialed in on this one.

UM's o-line was dominant in the last half of the Weber game, and pretty good in the first half, as well as some of the recent games.

UM has given up 16 sacks (11 conference) this year, and MSU has given up 23 sacks (16 conference). I like UM's numbers better. UM is 4th in the conference in sacks given up; MSU is 10th. UM's o-line is considerably better than MSU's, even with UM's inconsistency. Not even a close call.

You people really take the cake, you think I am a cat fan, Alpha and an idiot? Why? Just because I throw out a differing opinion on our team? If this game was in Missoula I feel the Griz would win it outright but its on the road and we are an up and down team so far this season. Just because 3 or 4 of you think the talent on this team is the best ever doesn't make it so. Kistler, Henderson, Coyle, Tripp and Shaw are the players we have that are undeniably better than any Cat player. The rest are up for debate.

I have never said the Griz were horrible and just because the Cats have better players at most positions doesn't make them a better team. They have some match up problems with Montana, but I am sure you football titans already know that.

You people keep making personal attacks and calling names but I will not lower myself to your level. Have a great rest of your week.

I would be worried about this game except that their coach reminds me alot of ours, unambitious, unimaginative and conservative. I've watched MSU play alot this year and they are a team that a good team will beat. And by good team I mean one that won't beat themselves. MSU isn't going to dominate a team or force them into too many tough spots. So if the Griz offense doesn't shoot themselves in the foot (which they have done several times this season) then they should come out with the win. Hey, if SFA, SUU, EWU and SMU can do it then the Griz should do it too.

Big G..I commend you for giving your honest opinion. Unfortunately, you posted on egriz, where any opinion other than "the griz are the gods of college football" is met with blind hostility. Most of the people on here are dipsh!ts that lack the ability to see things objectively. I agree that we have yet to put 4 full quarters of football together..I even read that in a player interview somewhere. It will be a hard fought game with plenty of talent on both sides of the ball. This will be a tight game with plenty of "oh shit" moments from both fan bases.

The issue isn't that he posted his opinion, or a lack of objectivity on the part of other egriz posters. This issue is that his opinion is retarded.

Exactly. If you go back and read what most posters said, they were very gracious to the cats, in acknowledging positions they are stronger in. Nobody offered the kind of one-sided moronic argument that Big Geezy did.

There is a big difference between admitting both teams are talented, and saying 9 out of 11 on offense and 8 out 11 on defense. Even the most blindly loyal, shit talking cat fan wouldn’t agree with that.

Bottom line, it was a fucking stupid comment.

.....seriously? Saying stupid shit like this is exactly what is wrong with these forums. The guy has a right to his opinion, and just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean that he is wrong or that you get to be a douche bag. The title of this thread says to say what your realistic expectation is for Saturday. He gave his and you jumped his sh!t because you don't agree. You sir are an asshole and a sh!tty fan. And yes, you certainly owe him an apology.

....what is "wrong with these forums" is obsessive e-trolls who show up with a new screen names every couple weeks.
