What will post Covid-19 college football look like?

I think the CFB, NBA, NHL, etc., will be canceled. We're still a year a way from a vaccination. Seasons start back up in '21.

I know a few folks that are involved with academics/administration at several college campuses and the current thinking is that all fall courses will be online with no students on campus. Doesn't bode well for athletics. They are under the belief that on-campus classes will not start again until after the first of the year at the earliest based on the reported timeline for Covid-19, and that all athletics will be pushed until the following academic year.

Interesting posts by all. Makes me wonder, that if football is not cancelled for the season:
1. How could a Spring season jive with the next fall season?
2. Players are screened weekly for temperature checks, symptoms (which are similar to common cold, allergies).
3. Who can be allowed in the stands?
a. The earliest paid season ticket holders?
b. Temperature checks at the gates, mandatory COVID-Free cards or phone app?
c. Out of town fans, including parents of players?
d. Students?
e. Due to 6' distancing, a cap on entrancing, no leaving at half-time?
(1) How can I get a drink in the Canyon Club?
(2) With no tailgates or half-time exits, might alcohol beverages be served by hundreds of servers to our seats?
4. Television reverts to pay for view to help on revenue shortfalls?
5. How do we cheer with K95 face masks on?

Yup, just wondering.

Should be interesting what does happen. I would have no problem doing the ppv to watch!

KIrk Herbstreit said in an interview yesterday he has serious doubts there will be any football this fall. With teams losing spring ball, and summer conditioning/workouts, there is not adequate time logistically to prepare teams to play. One example he gave was the challenge for teams with new coaches/schemes to learn.
So what; some teams win and some teams lose - like always.

I drop $700 total cost to attend a game in Missoula. I would pay a lot for ppv games if that's what was available.

My college team survived without spring ball (except 1 day, double sessions, no pads) and no organized summer workouts, and even had one year where we were undefeated and top 20 in D-I. Herb is showing his lack of gray hair.

Herbie may be onto something. I will not be surprised to hear NCAA shutting down fall 2020.

In lieu of above perhaps some ppv option (sans fans) may rescue some portion of it.

Depressing to even consider, but I guess I'd take it.

All about perspective I suppose. Last month when they announced that March Madness would be played, but fans would not be allowed I was very annoyed. It sounded terrible and I couldn't even imagine what it'd look like. Then they cancelled the whole damn thing. Suddenly I would have paid thousands to watch it on tv!

I guess I'm more optimistic than most. Time will tell I suppose.

Would you feel comfortable going to games with big crowds this fall ?

No, so I would feel safe at Bobcat games.

This is just my personal opinion, not trying to sway anyone, but ab-so-freaking-lutely! I’d feel comfortable going to games this weekend if they were available.

But I’ve also worked every day of the pandemic and dealt with thousands of people. I’ve also been to Costco and Walmart. Probably encountered as many people there as I would a game. Lol.

But I’m a bad person to ask as my opinion has been well stated already. I’m fine with people disagreeing.

You are not a bad person for those things. You are a bad person for being a Bobcat.

And hopefully you never come in contact with someone who is infected. Stay safe!

The old double-whammy.

Those in the know, what waivers would the Big Sky be asking the NCAA?

At least there's some discussions.
