Vigen's a standup guy. There won't be any excuse making. He'll look everyone in the eye, answer their questions without looking at them like they were idiots. He knows what a butt-kicking looks like, they administered more than one this season.

I don't expect you to hear that they just didn't have enough "dudes" to get the job done. Nothing about losing a QB or else things would have been much better. Nor will there be a lot of talk about that unfortunate stretch of tough games - a gauntlet if you will, that they had to play to get to this one, where it all fell apart.

He'll be proud of his team, note that they will be back at it in the spring and go on his way.

That is exactly what Vigen said in the post game interview. He made no excuses and said what you wrote in your last paragraph above. The future is bright.

So the kitten fluffers here just get done watching their boys get donkey stomped and the first thing they do is show up on eGriz to blather.....little bro, indeed. :o

Again, this is what Cat fans used to say after you guys got beat in whichever of the many superior seasons you had compared to us that ended in playoff disappointment. We for sure would like to have the overall better win record against the Griz, but if you are happy with the state of your program compared to the Cats, I wish you well.

And to your little brother point, fair enough, but this Griz website hosted an entire thread to one game at a stage the Griz didn’t get close to making.

They had a great season. Didn't lose the many close games they played in the first have of the schedule and ran through the second half of it, including embarrassing us. I don't like them, but I certainly respect them. They are a good football team, and will continue to be one.

Here's the difference;

Many of their close games were to bottom dwellers and many of our close games were to top 5 teams.

Oh just like cats have done for many many years? Cool story bro

Exactly, which is why I conceded the point earlier. But if you are still happy with the state of your program we will start a thread on your behalf. Let me know.

But the Cats did beat the Griz in a beat down and Weber twice. Also, won the close games. One close one was at NAU in their dome. Weber went down there and pulled out a win in the last minute too. The future is bright for the Cats as they don’t lose a lot. SDSU is a good bet to beat the Bison again. The Big Sky is not near those two Dakota schools.

I'm happier now than I was when Delaney and Stitt were here. But, I'm not as happy as when Hauck, Pflu, Read, and Glenn were here. I have a good feeling we will get there. Hauck knows what has to be done know that they've played the top dog in all of fcs. We will achieve it. Just a matter of time and o Line coach.

Sounds like an excuse, which is the point of this thread. Cheers.

Perhaps a better question: Would you rather the Griz get embarrassed in the Semifinals or the quarterfinals on national TV?

This thread has absolutely nothing to do with the Griz. The OP made it clear it was about the loudmouth cat fans getting taken behind the woodshed and how they always slither into excuses..Thats what happens when you haven't been there before. You blame others for getting stomped and embarrassing the state of Montana 2 years in a row.

My neighbor across the street is a big Cat supporter. We were discussing the road game scenario before the SDSU game. Cats road team just doesnt carry themselves the same. He was worried about a repeat of NAU game but on a larger scale because the Jacks are not a 3-8 team or a bottom dweller like the rest of the road games. He was right.

I think it faur to say after the playoffs that the }top" teams the Griz played really aren't "top" teams.

One disappointing season outcome does not define the state of our program. We will be back; next year you will get to enjoy the schedule we had this year, including the Brawl in Missoula. Remember how that went last time?

And yet, you can STILL find people on this site who piss and moan about the state of the turf in Chatty in ‘04 and use it as an excuse for our loss to JMU.

I don't listen to clueless people who don't know shit about football.

Both teams played on the same field one had problems the other one kicked our ass it wasn't the field. JMU was the better team. Good teams don't make excuses they just win.

All Montana does is make excuses, the refs, the field, cost of living etc. It makes you look like the bitch you are.

You know, the funny thing is Cat fans aren't making excuses, not in this thread & not on Bobcat Nation. SDSU beat the snot out of MSU yesterday. Pretty easy to see who knows what's going on at UM & MSU by reading these comments. I'll take MSU's returning offense - they're only losing receivers - tight ends, entire O line, 3 qb's, and a pile of running backs all return. Recruiting looks stellar, and now they can focus on some D line & Dback depth from the portal. 20 game home win streak. 24 and 5 the last 2 years, BSC champions this year, beat the Griz 4 out of the last 5. Deep playoff runs the last 4 years, knocked out of 3 by NDSU - who went on to win the big enchilada. Starting construction of the new indoor practice facility. Yeah, I like MSU's trajectory & results a lot. Oh, and Vigen isn't making excuses either. It's a cultural thing Coach. Pay attention, you might learn something.

No kidding. Never understood the tough guy routine for cold weather. I used to race bicycles years ago and nothing worse than freezing your butt off in the cold and rain. It really affected your power output.

I sure do, it was an aberration from the 4 years prior, I hope. And before you get into the lifetime win loss records, I concede the point. I am in my mid 30s and I will not live to see the evening of the record. I’m cool with it. Do you want to know why? I’m assuming you do or else you wouldn’t have dignified my lowly bobcat post from a day earlier.

Wyoming won a men’s college national basketball championship that most people have forgotten. Nebraska used to be awesome at football too. Hell, even Illinois and Minnesota were considered champs at one time too. You’re more than welcome to rely on your undisputed dominance of the past, but if that’s what does it for you, you might do well to stop pretending that you’re living in the present.

The Cats dominated the Griz this year, fair and square. The Cats also lost all two of their games fairly and squarely. I surely hope the Cats will build on their success next season, but if they don’t, I sure as hell won’t be trying to hold so dearly onto this one.

I don’t go to Cat games to watch highlights from past seasons. I assume you don’t follow the Griz for the same. I was born after the last Cat national championship win and every single player on the Griz roster right now was born before yours. Relevancy is a hell of a drug but it’s fickle and happens to change year to year and sometimes game to game.

Good luck to you, friend.
