What We Can Do As Griz Fans

There is no way you actually believe this. But if you do, then let me know how much you want to lose on the natty.
This was before I saw the stats posted on egriz. The Cats are allowing far less points. I think it was more than 100 less points that the Cats have allowed than Illinois State and that is including 59 from Oregon. More than 160 more points have been scored on Illinois State than the Cats by FCS opponents this season.

Lets get this back on track. All the crazy critical fans on this message board should put up. If you want to keep the talent we have and build in the future, start donating to the athletics dept now. I'm even calling on GriznMN. I know you want a rough season next year as you think your chances of a big program upheaval will happen, but once you come to your senses and realize that is total loser talk and not productive, maybe even you will send in a check to support UM.

I don't think we need to necessarily match what Eli and KAY, Brooks, etc will be offered in the portal. I think we need to make it reasonable enough to where they are comfortable staying and getting compensated well. I know all of these guys are fond of UM, and there is risk in leaving and not having the same opportunity at the level of production elsewhere. And they are good dudes, so legacy matters to some degree.

Come out from behind your tough computer screen and keyboard and put your money where your mouth is. Literally every dollar helps.

Are you crazy? We can’t be in negotiations with these guys. One fair offer at the end of the season and that’s it. If they’re shopping around, that offer decreases.

RB should way should be way down the list of priorities with NIL.

NIL needs to be run like a business.

Not crazy. And I don't think thats how it works. Our ability to compensate these guys is fluid, depending on available $$. Why wouldn't we try to maximize our compensation for the guys that have earned with their leadership on the field? We would be crazy to not work with guys like Eli, KAY, etc. And by work with, I dont think its necessarily negotiating, its working to do the best we can for them...

And if both teams were dominated by Montana players, they would not be at the top of the Big Sky.
Hence why we need to win the recruiting battles for the elite montana players. We’ve got the rauschs and huffs of montana but they have had the andersons the dowlers and the mellots of montana. We are signing guys from montana who would otherwise be naia recruits and they are signing the real division 1 players.

I think that changed this cycle and even last recruiting cycle. But in general the past several years, spot in. Cole Taylor also should have absolutely been a griz. Legacy kid and family has many season tickets right behind griz sideline.

The 2026 class according to Vim….blue chippers cats 4. griz 0. In fact every blue chip or higher that stayed in state are Cats (and they had another choose them over UM before decommitting Highest rated griz are the “partial” level

Opitz is a "blue chipper". And I dont know how vim left off the Ehret kid (3 star), pyron (3 star), and snell (elite athleticism, we beat out nevada for him) among the partials. Those 3 dudes' tape absolutely popped.

But I am in agreement, we have to get back to dominating in state. University wide.

I'd rather dominate the Portal. Way more proven talent.
Hoops when are you and all the local attorneys going to start an attorney specific NIL fund dedicated specifically to the trenches? You’re all competitive. Most attorneys are high earning individuals. And you could brag about how Montana law (& Dartmouth in your case) and other local attorneys like yourself turned the program around when we start pushing people around in the trenches again.

It’s doing what is best for the program, not certain individuals. Business decisions.

UM had a terrific season. No matter what you say, the season was terrific and the team is the 2d or 3d best team in the nation. The Cats are a run team. Of course they are going to get a good amount of yards rushing. Does that surprise you? The Cats averaged 262 yards per game this season. The Cats rushed for 241 and 240 against the Griz this year. Big deal. Less than their season average. Great stat Andrew. Just another dumb point by Schmidt. He's got nothing and he's struggling to find something that might stick.
That’s a huge deal. Winning percentage drastically increasees when rushing for over 230 YPG. You know this.

I'd like that, too.
Auburn “dominates” the portal and still can’t win in the SEC. There is a place for the portal and that is for plugging holes. High school recruiting is still the meat and potatoes.

Agreed there for sure.
