What We Can Do As Griz Fans

You don't think Bodner is part of the problem? From my perspective, it is the lackluster state of the University.
I don’t think Bodner has done a great job by any means, but the buck does stop with him. If not him, then who? The Board of Regents lol?

He is ultimately the one who can force change within the athletic department.

I am also going to call Kevin & Kyle Washington (not trying to flex, but they are literally like family to me) and let them know their guy Bobby is not getting the job done & is rapidly losing support among the fanbase.

They are undoubtedly the single largest stakeholders in this process, so it’s one substantive thing I can do to try to encourage change.

I encourage anyone who is feeling the same to make their voices heard.

The status quo is not acceptable.

We all have our ways to contribute. I was talking about leveraging networks, and you are doing just that! We need to make sure what we are doing is productive and meaningful.

My question is why would you think he would force change? I also don't think Bobby is losing support with a majority of the fanbase.

Anybody who thinks Bodnar (learn how to spell his name) is the problem is delusional. UM was literally in the roadside ditch when he took over, and all he's done has grown our enrollment three years in a row, built $150 million in new campus infrastructure (with more to come), added several good new healthcare related degree programs, and is continuing to get us back on track. Would I like to see results come a little bit faster? Yes of course I would, but given where we are now compared to where we were when he took over, I'd say he's doing a damn good job building UM back up from the dust.

I know the opinions of the group of season ticket holders around me that I am in contact with as well as some others that don't sit around me ...they are questioning if Bobby can really do it . They were all aboard when he came back, but after just one BSC title, losing so many recruiting battle for top level Montana kids (especially living in his hometown) and what their parents have told them about the difference the two programs efforts are , so many cat losses and now a likely cat championship have really changed their opinions Maybe not a true majority but it is on the increase and increasing quickly

I think it's fair to say that they've done their part.

Can someone explain how the NIL collective works? When I looked on the website, they show all the athletes from different sports. Obviously not all the players are on it, it's just a select few from each team. When you donate or give money, do all the players share the money or does it go to a specific player. Can you just give money to specific players or do all the players take an equal percentage of all that was donated?

What if we lose Gillman, Ah Yat, Davis, Wing and Otlewski to better NIL offers?

So what. We can’t play that game. It’s only a problem because we aren’t recruiting/developing depth.

We used to reload not rebuild. But this staff got lazy with NIL money.

It’s hilarious that there solution is to ask for money to keep guys because they aren’t recruiting and developing.

I guess you’re going to ignore that 80% of the names I listed were HS recruits that they’ve developed?

Will be coming up from Tennessee for the season opener. Hoping to see Ah Yat back at QB, Gillman at RB, and a much stouter DL!

Great question. The website needs work on providing more clarity on how our dollars are helping out. I know I was hesitant before partially due to that. The anger after the loss got me over my hesitations, but my questions do remain.

Make one fair offer. If they want to go, strongly encourage them to do so. No negotiation, no trying to outbid. We got guys behind you ready to take your spot.

Gillman should probably declare for the draft.

Reading the room is clearly not your strong suit.

And why do I think he would force change? Because any person dropping the kind of money and influence they do is expecting a return on their investment in the form of performance.

Because certain boosters getting in he and Kyle’s ears is a huge part of the reason Bobby got the job back in the first place.

Part of the understanding was that he was brought here to win championships. Something at which he has clearly failed, along with most of Bobby’s other self imposed metrics.

I’m not of the illusion that I alone I am going to turn the tide with them. But I have proximity to influence, so I’m going to use it by telling them what I believe to be the glaring truth of the matter.

I don't think there is the pressure you assume.

Might as well have a bake sale.
And what’s the problem with that? Part of this is bringing things to a more accessible level. It is essentially grassroots campaigning. Every little bit counts. We have an intense wealth of passion and support, lowering the bar (or at least the perceived bar) allows more to contribute and engage in more ways.

I seldom agree with "take a Hike" but while in this case he could be a little more tactful he isn't totally wrong. Money is only a small part of the problem and bake sales car washes and signs with QR codes aren't going to fix it. I know most of you are really trying to problem solve until you reach the point of coaching change but then you just kind slink away with an awe fuck. And that is short term reasonable because Hauck isn't going any where this year even thouogh he is 80 % of the problem. But looking past next year, a contract year, what can/will you do then? The Griz are probably a 9-3 team, maybe a 5 - 8 seed, and very possibly a couple more playoff wins. But if a 13-2 coach cant be let go then who will support letting him go at 11-4? I mean he has been here 7 for seven years and while succesful to a point hasn't really delivered as promised. So if we really want to change things and wan't to raise money, maybe it should be for a "help Bobby retire fund". Some of you are talking about raising a million for NIL. What about that money going to Bobby to "encourage" him to retire and not seek a new contract. And then some well placed individual or individuals need to start seeding the idea to him about retirement. We all know he is obsessed with a Natty but touting the advantages of fishing more and stressing less might be effective if there was added compensation. Otherwise he will be here for another three years and this shit will just continue. Maybe Hoops could actually do some good and talk up the advantages of retirement to him since he seems to enjoy it.
