What was more embarrassing...

I agree that nobody on this board (including me) has any idea how good North Alabama may or may not be in reality at this point,so even though most people might see the name "North Alabama" and aren't impressed, let's see how they do against NDSU in 2 weeks before we decide?. I firmly believe they will be a respected FCS team before long.

Have to go with the SUU loss. The others were expected losses though the margins were worse then expected. SUU is supposedly one of the tops in the conference so to lose at home to North Alabama looks bad for the whole conference.

Funny thing about the winning drive by North Alabama is that SUU committed four penalties including two that negated interceptions. Karma? Another thread several are commenting on the officiating, such as it was (and is and will continue to be) in the Northern Iowa game.

Where is VandalPride? Maybe he can give us some insight in to his teams poor performance and further he may willing to tell us if the outcome of this game changes his previously profound confidence in the Vandals.

I'm wondering who gets canned first, Coachoate or Peperino?

Lashley is buried on Boise states depth chart right now, so how good are those LBs really?

The winner. Methinks they be missing their QB and TE from last year. How do you get but 13 yards passing in a whole game?

Especially when you're down 3 or 4 scores? They should have been giving them everything underneath in the 4th? Brutal.

Watched the game. If the guy they started at QB is their answer this year then they are in real trouble.

Those are Bobcat passing numbers.

I wandered over to Idaho's forum and it is really depressing.

Holy crap, it's slow here so I checked it out too, the thinking goes from quit football to go back to FBS, they have pretty much given up on ever being able to field a good team because of WSU and BSU and a million other things.

It depresses me and I don't give a f*ck about them.

North Alabama, much like NDSU SDSU etc, was a solid D2 school. A lot of fertile ground for recruits. Agree they will be solid sooner rather than later

You forgot PSU losing to Nevada 19-72. And Nevada is a bad FBS team. To me this is the most embarrassing.

Will know much more about Weber's offense after the Cal Poly game this week. Not saying 59 yards of total offense isn't embarrassing, but Utah has maybe the best defense in the nation. They're always good, but this year's version is scary good.

Well I know how good they are and although I did pick SUU to win, I was by no means shocked by the outcome.

I almost picked them honestly, but chickened out in the end! hahaha. I've been to that blue stadium in Florence for a D2 championship game (my first ring). Nice little town and fantastic people that part of the state. Not sure why it's painted blue instead of purple and gold though

Haley had some interesting takes related to the subject of this thread at:

Some excerpts:
Haley at STATS.com said:
One full week into the FCS college football season and some intriguing storylines have emerged quickly.
… NORTH ALABAMA IS FOR REAL … The Lions' .615 winning percentage on the D-II level ranks 12th-best in history. They won't beat North Dakota State on Sept. 15, but with five sub-FCS opponents on an independent schedule, they will win plenty of games.
---
IDAHO IS NOT FOR REAL … Idaho might be dropping from the FBS level, but it returned only 10 starters. …
Agree or disagree with him, he has some other interesting points in this (short) article.
