One reason, I think, so many confuse BH as a ground and pound coach was his teams were very physical. Hard nosed, in your face, football. They were balanced but physical. Kind of what the scats have evolved into and our Griz away from over the last few years (IMO) - hard, physical, football.

I fully expect BH to fix that in short order!

GO GRIZ!

Don't leave out conditioning. Haucks Griz could play 6 quarters of football and still not be gassed. I did not see that as much since he left.

Agreed.

Warning post off message and kind of long and may also be too challenging for some to comprehend and discuss rationally. Also If you get a headache from reading more then a sentence then you should really move on when you see my novel posts so you don’t hurt yourselves.

The rest of you lighten up already if you are not into discussing a kid from Dillon then don’t. Anybody know if he got any got Pac 12 offers. I’m old school and believe running back by committee is high schoolish. NDSU is a great example they play it straight up with a feature back and wear you down. It seems to work, they should look it up. When you have a kid like Anderson why not junk the gimmicks and let the kid do what he does best, run fast down hill. I think there was one guy last year from Iowa State who played both ways, but he was the only one.He was okay but not great. Running back and linebacker are too all encompassing he’s gonna get wore down playing like that. Anybody know what Anderson’s 40 time is. His throw down I saw in the 4th qrt of the state A tournament last year was not on a fast break, but off of their set offense through the lane in traffic. Really impressive for a high school kid. They really have a good one I just think they don’t know what to do so they are not going to do anything different with him from last year. I’m not really concerned with what their coaches are doing, I just think it is bush league and using your best athlete as a decoy seems silly, but to each his own. Thanks for,the insight. That is all, Ok fellas start the whine fest. Always with the negative waves Moriarty. (Kelly’s hero’s, lol)

I understand that BH plans to run a balanced attack with a fullback and always one and a sometimes two tight ends, a lot like Stanford’s offense minus Bryce Love.lol

Not totally correct. There may be some situations they run two TE sets with a fullback but I think you will be surprised what this offense actually looks like.

No I heard it from the coaches mouth they will always have at least one tight end and play an offense patterned after Stanford, who targets their tight ends like receivers but they are also big and physical but have wide receiver talent. Two tight ends will be pretty common. Thanks

Bush league, huh? You think having two of the fastest kids on the team and maybe the conference (Murray and Andersen) on the field at the same time for a few plays a game is silly? That gives a defense a lot to account for. Seems odd explaining that... That is the basis of how an offense works in football.

With that being said, it appears his best position and best way to make the team better may be at linebacker. And with losing Bignell to graduation, that is a need.

I don't know the exact snap breakdown, but I believe Andersen played more offense than defense, by a decent margin last year. It sounds like the plan this year is to be the starter on D and play the majority of the snaps, and then get a handful of plays in on offense. So not accurate to say they're going to do the same thing as last year.

The mere fact that you've posted about it 3 times now and really have an issue with how think he should play shows that you are concerned with what the coaches are doing with him, even though you claim not to be. Not sure why though..

Yes bush league it means the minor leagues, unprofessional, unsophiticated, silly. Don’t you think having your two fastest and best athletes on the field for every offensive snap is gonna cause defenses more problems then only five plays will. Have you noticed that the NFL and the power fives and NDSU don’t have gimmick decoy plays or two way players. Just kind of high level conventional thinking regarding how real offenses work. Good luck with the decoy plays next year.lol. I posted three times because I’m interested in this kid I’m not concerned about your coaches I just think it illustrates that they don’t know really what they are doing and as a football fan from Montana I’m interested in why you guys seem to have a bias against Montana high school athletes playing qb or rb. Good luck with that. I would rather follow a Montana kid playing qb or feature back rather then some kid from Texas or California, Not that complicated. Think about this the BSC freshman of the year who was initially scheduled to play safety/linebacker comes to camp as a true freshman and after a week of practice Gregorak recognizes they totally misjudged him and he gets converted not moved but converted to rb a position he never played in high school, and yet he not only starts but excels as the best freshman in The BSC not as a linebacker but as a rb. So yeah based upon all that let’s make him an every down linebacker. Yeah that’s the ticket. Reminds me of when Jim Kelly went to Miami over penn state because penn state wanted him to play linebacker and he wanted to play quarterback. So he’s in the nfl hall of fame as a qb but the fellas at penn state still say yeah but he would have been a hellova linebacker. Lol.

Thanks for the clarification on the meaning of bush league, really needed that.
You clearly know best. UM or MSU would be well advised to employ you as a coach. Although presumably not being at any of these practices to see how players look at different positions, what the depth chart looks like, etc, you’re able to say that the coaches don’t know what’s best for the team, don’t know what they’re doing, saying they misjudged the talent of a freshman player, etc. It’s quite remarkable you can do that from your living room.
As I mentioned before, he’s the kind of athlete that could probably start at about 4 or 5 different positions, what it comes down to is where is he needed the most what helps the team the most? Seems like the coaches think that’s going to be at linebacker. Time will tell

Yeah well ...it’s just my opinion man.lol What did I get wrong? was he not recruited to play defense and then they scramble to instantly turn him into a college running back during fall camp and then he excels not because they did such a great job of molding him into a rb, rather it was because he is phenomonly talented. Is that not accurate. Come on who at MSU thought that after the inauspicious start in fall camp he was gonna turn into him being named freshman of the year. Yeah in my opinion you guys had no clue what you were getting. I watched him for three years when he was in high school and I was sure he would play in the pac 12. I think Anderson would impact And control a game way more playing your feature back rather then playing linebacker. You are right though time well tell. I have a lot of friends in Dillon and am biased and want to see him fulfill his incredible potential. Thanks

Fair enough, first and foremost I can respect a Lebowski reference at any time.
I think most people want to see him reach his potential because I think the sky is the limit for him, as cliche as that sounds.
But yes, he was recruited to play D, and once he was needed on offense they decided to put him there to utilize his speed. The Cats were down their #1 RB to start the season, so he was needed in the backfield. As of mid season, he wasn’t even practicing with the offense anymore, he was practicing with the D and they just had a handful of run plays installed for him that he knew for game day, from what I understand.
Now that there is a little more depth at RB this year, on paper at least, he’s playing the position he was recruited for.
Saying the coaches didn’t know what they had I don’t think is accurate though, Choate was on record during fall camp last year saying that he thought a lot of teams missed on Andersen by not recruiting him. And that he was a PAC 12 level athlete. I think the coaches knew exactly what they had.

I dig the way you do business man.lol. Thanks for the insights. Me and all of beaverhead county will be closely following Troy.

Andersen plays on the east side of the divide son! Maybe you ought to convince the powers that be to drop down to Class B where you belong enrollment wise so you can play with the Trojans in Whitehall? Wait! You're like all the kids who are now sniffing trojans instead of eating tide pods.

You totally lost me. I think I get it that you like beaver and head (pretty freaking clever how old are you really?)do you ever get any? After that what is the Whitehall reference, are you implying Whitehall could compete against the beavers. Yeah I don’t think so. Dillon has been dominating Class in football and basketball for years. Sniffing trojans, you mean condoms? Don’t know what that could possibly mean, smelling condoms? Sniffing the Whitehall Trojans, what? I have heard about the tide pod urban legend though. Btw are you really high man? Thanks

You're the one babbling about a kid playing in another school. Just sayin...

The two things that I am most excited to see are;(1.) A return to physical football! (2.) A win every game attitude, home and away!!! The "X" factor that separates regular teams from champions = SPECIAL TEAMS! I can't wait for UNI. We will compete and give ourselves a chance to win every game I am sure!!!!!!!!!!!! JLM will gain the most from Bobby's return! Jerry will be an All American I TRULY BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Griz!

Did I annoy you dude? At least decipher your post for me. Thanks

Have you gone back and read what you wrote? Go to bed son. The bus is going to pick you up in a bit over six hours and I bet your Honors English teacher is going to be so very proud of your prose today. Is she your mom?

Oh, no my mom passed away. Thanks

Kid like you, no wonder. I think you have heard the analogy that married men live longer than single men, BUT married men are more willing to die? What kind of dip shit would thank her mom for passing away...I miss my mom you sorry pos.

GGNez, would you give this kid a southeast Montana geography lesson? Tell him how wonderful it would be to float down the beaver to its head with the confluence with the Ruby and then he could possibly find glory in the Big Hole...geezzz, I had some great geography teachers in high school...such aliteration and their use of innuendos were lost on some of my classmates...

No I wasn’t thanking my mom for passing. When I said thanks I was only being polite to you. Oh And I promised another guy that i would relinquish this hi jacked thread back to it original posters. Thanks
