Two games into this season, but don't forget about the 11 games last year. Lider's not a Freshman ya know.

Never said he was a Freshman. I included stats from both Freshman and Sophomore years of Carpenter, Snyder and McKnight ya know ;)

Yes, I read what you posted but you made it sound like he's brand new with the "2 games in" comment and I was merely pointing out that he had the exact same problem last year. I have no idea why he can hit a 45 harder but has trouble with a 19 yard PAT. Should be automatic.

I'll agree it's troubling that we've had a bad time with PATs these first two games, but I'm confident that will be shored up very soon.

Basically Lider is ahead of all three of the previously mentioned kickers for FG, but a bit behind on PATs so far in his sophomore year. I'd guess fixing PAT problems is easier than fixing longer distance FG accuracy problems :)

I sure hope so. Kid's got a strong leg. I think someone pointed it out earlier, probably all mental right now on PAT's.

Did anyone notice Larson missed that FG right befor halftime last night on the 95 replay game...........

Pull his scholly NOW!!!

I swear, some people in this thread have the memory of a mentally challenged goldfish...

Here's a brief history lesson. Snyder as a sophomore? Not very good. Carpenter as a sophomore? Nope...not great either. McKnight as a sophomore? Very shaky.. In fact if you go back on eGriz, people were still bitching about McKnight before his Junior season began.

I'm confident the PAT problems will be fixed. McKnight struggled big time with PATs early in his career too, but that got worked out. Lider was 37-41 last year in PATs. McKnight was 52-57 in his freshman year.

Since I'm having a little trouble digging up historical PAT stats (thanks to GoGriz.com being complete shit) here are the FG stats for Snyder, Carpenter, and McKnight in their FR and SO seasons.

Notice any similarities?

Snyder
Fr - 16-25 (64%), 7-7 from 20-29, 5-8 from 30-39, 3-8 from 40-49, 1-2 from 50+ (52)
So - 16-30 (53.3%), 3-5 from 20-29, 5-9 from 30-39, 8-14 from 40-49, 0-2 from 50+ (49)

Carpenter
Fr - 18-29 (62.1%), 4-7 from 20-29, 7-10 from 30-39, 7-10 from 40-49, 0-2 from 50+ (49)
So - 14-21 (66.7%), 4-5 from 20-29, 8-8 from 30-39, 1-7 from 40-49, 1-1 from 50+ (50)

McKnight
Fr - 9-16 (56.2%), 3-5 from 20-29, 4-8 from 30-39, 2-3 from 40-49, (LG 46)
So - 15-25 (60%), 6-6 from 20-29, 6-7 from 30-39, 2-7 from 40-49, 1-5 from 50+ (LG 54)

Lider
Fr - 15-21 (71.4%), 1-1 from under 19, 7-8 from 20-29, 2-6 from 30-39, 5-6 from 40-49 (LG 46)

Guess we should've given up on Snyder, Carpenter and McKnight as kickers too huh? If the masses here on eGriz had their way none of those 3 would've likely survived their Freshman year :)
Nice post I completely agree with you :thumb:

This gold fish is analogous to a kicker in one major way - neither one should have feelings dammit. There should be ice water in that tank and Lider should have ice water running through his veins. Pressure - I don't feel no stinking pressure.

I've never had such a "nasty" feeling like I do about this kicker. The extra point issue is beyond comprehension. This is the week to make him kick some long field goals...for sure. If the light doesn't come on recruit a new body for the position. I don't drive 800 miles to watch botched x-pts. He's no different than the q.b. "Perform and play to live another day". :egriz:
