What seed will we get??

Wow, I guess I'm just a downer. I was thinking at best a 15 seed, but probably a 16 seeing as we were a four-seed in our own conference and were playing so inconsistently the last 5 or so games.

A 15 or 16 seed is possible, however, our record since 2006 (win against Nevade, first round) along with our record, I think we may get at 13 seed or better. Again, could be wishful thinking but a 1t5 or 16 seed would be a slap in the face. All is said and done, I'm happy to be in the "big dance" .....GO Griz!!!!

17th rated rpi conference last I heard, at worse a 14 seed. Also 2 and 1 record against WSU and UNC (both will be playing in postseason tourneys.)

Gonzaga won't be there because a team can't be placed at their home. It isn't like womens basketball where a team can play at their homecourt.

It's not being played at Gonzaga. It's at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena and Wazzu is the host so the Zags have a chance of playing there.

I don't know, 22-9 record with wins over Oregon, LMU, and Boise I think will help us. I predict a 13 seed. could be dreaming but I think we deserve it. The Big Sky was actually very tough this year. I think both Weber and Northern Colorado may get an NIT invite.

I'm thinking a 14 seed looks pretty good. The Big Sky is in the bottom half (#18) in conference strength, so those 21 (sorry, Great Falls doesn't count) wins only gets us so much.

Since Weber won the regular season, they supposedly are guaranteed an NIT bid. Don't think they'll invite two from the BSC.

I don't know if realtimerpi.com is a legit site, but if so, here's who's in right now with their RPI:

Butler - 14
Oakland - 52
Cornell - 47
Old Dominion - 30
E Tenn St - 123
Robert Morris - 144 (doesn't count their win 2nite)
Montana - 104 (but does not count tonight's win yet)
St Mary's - 38
Murray St - 59
Siena - 34
N Iowa - 18
Winthrop - 159

So... assuming a few more lower-tier teams get in the Griz probably aren't a 16, and with more help will push beyond a 15.

The year we got a 12 seed I thought we were going to end up with a 14 most likely. We were 23-7 that year before the tournament. I forget what our RPI was though... I think it was quite a bit better than it is this year. The appearance the previous year (when we only lost to #1 seed washington by 11) probably helped us get a better seed too. Hopefully the selection committee remembers us beating Nevada and gives us a decent seed. If I had to guess, I'd guess a 14.

14. Sadly the Oregon win doesnt look as good as it did in November. The loss at UW has a lot more meaning now. Not sure if the selection comittee considers "good loses".

Frankly I think 13 at best most likely a 15 though. Couple of losses to teams that might hurt a bit... Denver and Idaho state. Both on the road. Plus 20 wins against d one opponents probably won't help.

Latest projection on cbssports.com has the Griz facing Kansas State in a #3-#14 matchup in San Jose. That wouldn't be a terrible draw.

I do think the Griz are a #14 seed, and will probably play a team like K-State, New Mex, Villanova, or Purdue. As much as it appeals to some Griz fans, I don't want to see Villanova in the first round, as it would likely mean a long flight out ot Providence, RI, as well as Villanova having all of the fan support.

There's an outside shot of this, I know, but perhaps the Griz get a #13 seed and draw #4 seed BYU in the first round in Spokane. Not likely, but worth speculation.

I don't know about that, Oregon beat Wazzu in the first round of the Pac-10 last night

Gonzaga can play in Spokane because it is not at there home arena.......similar to Villanova playing their first 2 games last year in Philly because it was not on their campus.

Realtime RPI now has us at a 95, so doesn't change UM much against the current field that's "in." Also they moved Rober Morris up to 128 so they don't change position with us.

Right now on EPSN's braketology we're a 14 seed facing New Mexico

14, in Spokane. IF Gonzaga is not home,we would be the home town favorite.

As others have stated, Gonzaga can be placed in Spokane, but won't because of the loss in the WCC tourney. If they would have won and been the 4 seed, then Spokane is most likely where they would have been.

Likely a 14 seed.

The committee will move a team up or down a seed to facilitate a better regional match-up (i.e. less travel).

13 or 14 seed.

The BSC is 18th out of 32 teams in terms of RPI. The BSC has 3 20-win teams. We just beat the No. 11 team in the collegeinsider.com Mid major poll (UNC) and a team that has gotten votes in the same poll all season long (Weber). The Oregon win could look better if the Ducks keep winning in the Pac 10 tournament. But we also pass Joe Lunardi's "eye test" after last night. Before we wouldn't have, but we (or should I say AJ) looked spectacular last night. Factor in name recognition from relatively recent tourney appearances, the fact that the entire West is down this year (the Zags, and New Mexico are the only teams in the top 25), and the fact we have a marquee player in AJ, and I think we get a 13 seed.

Oh and I don't care what anyone says, that performance by AJ, from a bias or unbias opinion, was the performance of the year in college basketball thus far. Period. 34-25 AJ won the second half?? Thats ABSURD! He was in the freakin zone. Hope he can keep it going.
