What One Recruit family cares about

I have watched enough of this forum to know a lot more f you like to argue for the sake of it so it’s all good. But your arguments are mostly for situations that don’t exist, 1. does a college recruit a player that doesn’t fit their scheme? Think not. 2. Do you think there is any coach in Div 1 that is going to treat a player that is actively being recruited poorly? I haven’t met one yet. 3. Plenty of ex football players that leave without a degree or are working Walmart with a communications degree but played for the coach they wanted, not what I want for my son.

As to #2, are you saying you were never called by the “trick ass” from Bozeman?

 Hahaha, "He's new and doing foul already!"
A classic :D

Totally agree. Your son’s class is shaping up to be a talented bunch. There is no doubt with this class and the last two that there is some good young talent developing and waiting in the wings. This fan base just has very high expectations which is amazing but can also have some extreme views especially on this forum.

1000 recruits, probably 1000 different decision making processes. My one hope for any recruit is that they heavily weight all of the decades after college in their final decision. Playing college football is an outstanding experience but it pales in comparison to the rest of your life.

I am sure that this parent of a Griz recruit now understands completely how many all-knowing all-omniscient fans make up the Griz fan base. All he has to do is make a post expressing his personal views on a topic experienced by his family and his son, and he is immediately educated about what he should be feeling, instead of what he is feeling. Very impressive guys!

The stupidest posts are those trying to suggest that some head coaches don't try hard to sell the positives of their program. I want to meet one of those coaches...... probably in some bar somewhere since he obviously will no longer be a head coach.

Hellgate canyon is crap, the M sucks, ugly campus, stupid stadium, overpriced weight room, smelly river...man, if I were you, I'd head down the road and play next to the poop water! That's where the action really is!

Present company excluded, no doubt. You're not like that at all.

All you've done around here for the last week, whitefishbear, is flap your gums about everything you don't like, which is pretty much everything except the sound of your own obnoxious voice. You've been critical of the coaching staff, their recruiting, and their game management. You have criticized the majority of the fan base that isn't ready to throw Coach Stitt under the short bus you're driving. You've even taken the time to be critical about Weber State's and Southern Utah's fans and stadiums.

By your own standards, the only way you could possibly have the right to comment on those things is if you've coached and FCS football team, recruited for an FCS program, coordinated a gameplan for an FCS program, and directed an NCAA Division 1 athletic department in Montana or Utah. So tell us again how you're such a paragon of common sense and reason compared to everyone else who dares to offer a dissenting opinion to your own pompous drivel. Ass.

You need to stick to the sciences, cause you obviously failed freshman English and reading comprehension.

I talk in-depth about the game football, something that eludes you as you lecture a player's dad about what qualities dictated his son's decision-making process. We should all bow down to your infinite knowledge of the game and recruiting process. I don't need to lower myself to your childish name calling to show that I know much more about the game than you. It shows by the stimulation of discussion surrounding my posts by posters who obviously know much more about the game than you. And we don't have to throw around expletives to try to be relevant.

Good times on eGriz, as always. A few comments:

#1 That was the point I was making about you. My posts on the recruiting matter were not given authoritatively, they were given as an alternative. Huge difference.

#2 So you're the "all-knowing, all-omniscient" fan you were referring to in your own post? Sneaky.

#3 Much of which is in fact challenging, not championing, your point of view.

#4 I don't throw expletives around. They are very carefully chosen and aimed.

Why are you so condescending?

You obviously failed comprehension as well. I was agreeing with what you said and exaggerating the fact to make the point that only an idiot would think that coaches wouldn't sell the most important aspects of their: team, location, program etc

I am not condescending. I am merely responding to your condescending post. When you challenge a dad about the reason's his son chose Montana, I think it makes you look....... well, I think you get the picture. It seems to be a big deal for you to accept the fact that the Head coach may be way down the list when choosing a school. And I totally agree that it in fact is for most families. The vast majority of these kids will never play football beyond college. And the educational aspect remains a primary factor for most of them

Calling it a shit show, is a compliment. With growler being back, it is pure shit, and not worthy of being a show. It was nice, while he was gone.

Is this thread a NCAA violation?

Hahaha. I would like to see the NCAA make the case that this thread resulted in this or any recruit being MORE likely to come play here.

Brown said one of the things that stood out to him was how Montana coach Bob Stitt goes about recruiting.

"I strongly agree with his approach," Brown said. "Throughout my recruitment process, no other head coach was on the phone with me for more than 30 minutes. With our conversation that we had, I felt that he got to know me in ways that other coaches didn't and I felt like I got to know him based off the conversation that we had."

So, Stitt has the market cornered on recruiting kids, huh? I guess we can count on him getting every kid we are competing for with other FCS teams. Maybe he should write a book on the topic, and add it to his fly-sweep resume'. Sorry, I just couldn't resist the open door! But every recruit for any school could provide reasons why they liked a coach or the head coach. No kid is gonna commit to a school without being in-step with the coaching staff.

Depends on the School. I committed to Gonzaga back in the day because I wanted to go to Gonzaga. I found a way to get in step with the coach.............. Not unlike atomik235 , The school DOES make a difference and certainly is FIRST on the list of considerations. Obviously UM wouldn''t be on anyone who wanted to be an engineer's list.
