GO GRIZ!
PlayerRep said:grizeyes said:It's the same coaching staff so our team is similar to the team we had last year......
From what I can tell, we’re the kind of team that kicks off to start both halves, punts when we should go for it, go for it when we should punt, places little value in the kicking game/special teams, slows the offense down when the up tempo offense is working, go for it fourth down when inside field goal range, calls the exact same running play that hasn’t worked all game – when the game is on the line – for a loss of yardage, and then call the same play again! I don’t see the coaching staff making many changes, I hope I’m wrong.
And ends up with a 10-3 record and a playoff seed. And continues to attract clueless fans who don't understand the game.

The last two years, the Griz are 0-6 against teams that made the playoffs. If you take out the vacated wins in 2011, the Griz haven't beaten a playoff team since 2009.
Personally, I think the Griz have a ton of talent, but I don't think the current scheme works. With your QB and receivers you should throw the ball 40 times a game. You also have the perfect play-makers and skill position players to run the spread offense, which is what a lot of them were recruited to do.
The Griz are going to be fine this year, you have 6 wins at home basically penciled in, just need to win a couple road games. I do agree with a lot of posters that in order for the Griz to make a run, the offense needs to be turned loose.

I don't agree with much of what you said. You want to define any team that loses to the Griz as not a good team. That's not true. In trying to analyze the quality of recent UM teams, why would you back out vacated wins in 2011. UM won beat those teams, whether counted in the record books or not. It isn't true that UM players were recruited for the spread offense. Most were recruited because they were good players in high school with good potential for college. It's not true that even Pflu was recruiting players just for the spread. I do agree with you that UM will beat EWU this year. Ha.

Haha, I only defined "good teams" which I deem as teams that make the playoffs. I simply said the Griz have played 6 teams the past two years who made the playoffs and they didn't win any of those games...
Regarding 2011, you absolutely won those games, no doubt the Griz were a great team that year and I hate that those games were vacated, which is why I made mention of it in the initial post, I didn't just jump to 2009.
Bottom line is, your current head coach and coaching staff are 0-6 against playoff teams and if the Griz want to get back to the traditional powerhouse that you are/were, you need to start beating good teams.
The game this year in Cheney will be a good one, the EWU/Griz games always are...

Marceagfan5, You're wasting your time arguing with this guy. Its like beating a dead horse.. No matter what you have to say and all the facts that you point out, he will find a way to twist it all around and try to make you sound like a dumbass.
I agree with what you said, WE havent been able to beat a good team in quite sometime.. Thats not what Griz football is about. Teams arent afraid to play us anymore. Im too lazy to take a look at our home record the last few years but im willing to bet, it isnt that great. Keep posting Marc, you're a good poster..

You are 100% correct, and it’s really hard to believe for a program that was dominating at that level.
However, nothing lasts forever and football is cyclical. Considering what the program has been through the last 3 years, they have actually maintained fairly well. It’s just too bad that most of our fan base is too stupid to realize that.
I also don’t expect this lull to last very long. The Griz will be the Griz again, and very soon I believe.

2010: 5-1
2011: 8-0
2012: 3-3
2013: 5-2 (including playoff loss)
That's 8-5 in the past two years (not great), and 21-6 in the past 4 since Big Game Bob left.

Of that I'm not so sure...we're a lot like Tiger. He was invincible for about 10-12 years, and people were in awe of him on the golf course. Teams were in awe of the Griz on the football field, especially in Wa/Griz. That's definitely not the case any more (with Tiger OR the Griz), and I'm not sure it's something you can easily recapture.
