What is Sac’s con status for this year?

First of all, congrats on the progress being made. I'm glad to hear that, and you should keep those hopes pie in the sky. Nothing wrong with a little optimism in life. I'm also not trying to shit all over sac state, and I don't love them leaving the Big Sky. I'd much rather have kept you guys around, so no hate there.

On your claim about the plans, that isn't what was said. According to the Sac Bee
"On Monday, the university sent a response saying that it doesn’t have any such records, meaning none of the work has been completed."

To be clear, though, it doesn't look like it was an actual FOIA. So I was likely wrong on that.
I don't blame anyone that's skeptical. It would be the most Sac State thing every for this all to blow up in our faces. I hope it doesn't, that's all.

I truly don't understand all of the hate and schadenfreude towards Sac's aspirations. Honestly what do they have to lose? Even if they fail, I respect the fact that they are going all in on trying to improve facilities and grow the program. Looking beyond a dwindling FCS is hardly a bad thing, especially for a team in a larger market.

From what I gather from reading the posts, it's not the aspiration, it's the method in which it's being done.

I love the aspiration. I don't like the no sense being spewed...

They will be profitable. Won't
Their stadium will be elite. No plans.
Money is raised. It isn't.
We are better than JV FCS. They aren’t.

The list goes on.

Failing is one thing, but hurting the program, being stuck in no man's land, and/or going backwards are other potential downsides. SS doesn't seem to be off to a good start at this point. I agree with what Soldier said above too. It looks like the SS president doesn't have a clue on any of this.

Sac State's dreams of FBS, a new stadium, etc reminds me a lot of EWU's push for the "Gateway Project" 15 years ago that was supposed to happen, but never did. Same thing with their most recent "stadium-expansion" plans that were released a couple seasons ago. Likely will never happen either.

Granted Sac State has an incredible amount more in money than EWU, the feeling still sits.

Sacramento and its university have always had good potential, being in such a large media market. However, they have failed to come close to realizing any of that potential. They know best what their issues have been. I don't know all the ins and outs of their funding for all of this expansion, but it seems to me to be a lot of smoke and mirrors. They claim to have more pledges than money in hand. Hopefully something materializes over the next 5 to 10 years. Otherwise, it may all seem like pissing into the wind.

Nice catch! Get Wood vs. Rev. Dr. J. Luke Wood CBE Project.

Hey, Dr. Martin Luther Sting Jr. helped get SnapDragon Stadium built at San Diego State. Nothing wrong thinking he's capable of accomplishing the same in Sacramento, on a slightly smaller scale...

Please please please tell me that people are not referring to Wood as "Dr. Martin Luther Sting" now. Please, say it ain't so.
