Wrong. We don’t run the same system at all now. On either side of the ball. We need to hire Phen and Paulson and bring back the old system. South Dakota State sure looked a lot like those old Griz teams yesterday

Different system of development, you say? Now your posts are contradictory.
What are you talking about? Explain “system of development” to me. What does that entail? Be specific. What should we be doing instead? Be specific.

If you think some assistants should be replaced, I agree. Just never heard about system of development before.

…never? That is surprising. Do you think that quality teams are solely based on the talent of incoming recruits? It’s a big part of it, but teams like NDSU are also able to develop fresh recruits into the players they need. As a former offensive lineman (high school, and mediocre at best) I think it is particularly true on the O and D lines. And I would start with strength and conditioning in terms of change. Glad we agree on the rest

Because what worked 15 years ago must surely work now, right? I’m clearly not an expert, but this system isn’t developing players like it used to. The nature of the division and the conference has changed.

Bring back phen? Oh please no!

Nor Paulson's "play to not lose" defense so well illustrated in the '09 NC game.

The exact same thing you should have learned in 2004.

Get lied to about how close we are
Believe DOLA is just around the corner
We will have adrop down QB that is a game manager.
Hauck is cool with FGs over TDs
We will crush St Marthas School of Dumb and Blind teams
Get beat by most teams with a .500 or better record
Not deserve to make the playoffs
Lose every other year to the fu*king cats. (The cats, think about how far we have slid when thats even an option)
Maybe make the playoffs
Get beat by Wofford, etc
Expect different results next year

(SMFH)

Go 51-5 in a 4 year period with 2 National Title game appearances and put 13 guys in the NFL. And complain that we are underachieving.

Notre Dame won the Naitonal Title in 1988 and placed several guys in the NFL. Not a human-being alive thinks they're anywhere near that level today.

An incredibly accurate post.

Since I don't hang out here much can you bump this again in 2024 and 2025?

Thanks

The NDSU S&C coach has the last word on who gets recruited to play O-line for them. You can lift all them weights all you want, but let's be honest, there has to be a hell of a base of athleticism already in place for a strong guy to excel. Everyone is relatively strong.
