What happens if

The Cats lose to Davis and beats the Giiz? Which I think is entirely possible.
Then Davis is the bsc champion. Assuming they win the Causeway.

If everything else around the country goes chalk, then I would imagine the top six seeds would be

Ndsu
Tarlton
Davis
Sdsu
Montana
msu

Homefield advantage has become practically insurmountable in this series. Until a team proves otherwise, I will continue making gobs of money betting heavily on the home team. If both teams go chalk down the stretch, I see the Griz coming into the game as -4.5 point favorites (it should be higher, but they will set it low). That line will get to -6.5 in short order as sharps jump on it immediately. If -9.5 is there, I am going in five units. You would be wise to join me.

This is the one game that has historically been way too close for comfort over the years. There haven't been but maybe 2-3 blowouts in the last forty-five years.

I never go into that game thinking "Oh the Griz are going to crush the Puds. I don't know about it now with the portal and so many non-Montana kids on the rosters, but I do recall prior to the portal. There's a reason it is called the Brawl of the Wild."

NGL I hate the puds with all of my heart and soul. I refused to let my kid go there on an invitation when he was being recruited in high school. They could have offered him his wildest dreams and I would have probably smothered him in his sleep if he even considered it.

That being said, I am still not uber-confident when it comes to this game, and I wasn't during the streak. There were more than a few games that were won in the last second with a kick.

Man, even thinking about it right now has my anxiety level climbing.

Guess it depends on what you consider a blowout. Seems to me this game has been way closer to a blowout than a close game recently. The margin of victory in the last 10 games has been 23, 30, 34, 19, 34, 4, 8, 7, 27.

So the last 5 matchups have only been within 3 touchdowns once.

I am talking about forty five years of the game being played, not five years.

There have been 123 meetings

Montana leads,
74–43–5 (.627)

Largest victory - Montana, 79–0 (1904)

Largest win streak - Montana, 16 (1986–2001)

And that due to a garbage time TD with 7 seconds left. It was 29-3 with backup D in.

Just like how the Brent Vigen staff hasn’t beaten NDSU or SDSU anywhere they have never won in Missoula and I do not see that changing this season. The home field advantage might not be a thing next year if big game Brent vegetable is gone but it will still be big this season.

If Montana State loses to Davis and Montana will they miss the playoffs and a loss to the Griz be the end of the Vigen era in Bozeman? I think them losing to Davis and Montana is likely and it is a risk that they might get left out of the playoffs at 8-4. If they lost to Weber or UNC as well they will definitely miss the playoffs at 7-5.
