The best thing is that it's in Louisiana.
I always prefer a team from the warm weather headed up to the frozen tundra of WaGriz.
Well, to an extent. But it has to be
really cold, even for Missoula.
One of my fondest memories -- and favorites stories -- goes way back to when Stephen S. Austin visited WaGriz in 1995 (the championship year). I flew back directly to Missoula from a business trip on Friday night ... and the SFA cheer squad was at the terminal waiting for their ride. One of them came in from outside and a plaintive voice said, "Seven degree! That's
not a temperature!" Well, yes, it was, and their team got pummeled 70-14.
But that was extreme. Most of the time, people from Texas -- as one example -- will tell you: "Your 'dry cold' is not so bad. A 40º day in Dallas, with humidity over 80-90%, is way worse than 30º when the humidity is maybe 20-30%." And, having felt both, I have to agree.
