What do Griz fans think of Don Holst?

I was just wondering what you guys thought of Don Holst. He is an assistaint coach now at Utah State under Stew. And as near as I can tell he is very much liked in Logan and considered an asset to the Aggie basketball program. But I also know the Griz fired him.

I ask because I have heard his name for the MSU coaching vacancy. I think it would be a loss for USU but I would be happy for him. I have attached a link about him from the USU athletics web site.

The interactions that I had with Don Holst while I was a student and he was coach were all positive. I think he is a good guy and would be rooting for him to get another HC gig (although I wouldn't wish MSU on anybody)

Don is a great guy. I visited with him for about 1/2 hour when USU played in Reno. He was raving about the fan base and student support that the Aggies have in Logan. Just looking at the turn out of Aggies fans at the WAC tourney I have to agree with him. USU has some passionate and intelligent fans and I hope they clip Washington.

My impression of Don is that he could be a good coach but it was too soon. More experience (like what he is getting now) could pay off big.

For me I have to ask whether I think the Griz would be where they are now, i.e. in the playoffs with an excellent recruiting class inked for next year and the answer is clearly no.

Don did well with what he had but he wasn't at the time the coach to take the Griz to the next level. Obviously LK is doing an amazing job and really I hope everything lines up for DH and he gets his shot.

Well put Fan, Don was and is a great guy. Had a pretty good eye for talent and the kids liked him. UM job was too soon, however a couple of years under Stew and he will be back as a head coach. We can thank Don for Chriswell. Where would the griz be without him.
