Don Read went 6-4 his first year, and that turned out all right. Patience required!

Read took a total wreck of a team, to a winning season in his first year, and never looked back. Despite my dislike of Delaneys record, among other things, his only losing season was his first. Griz now have a three game relative respite to prepare for a tough four game finale. No sugar, no maroon glasses, just objective hope.

Glenn took a decent team, complely changed a system that had been in place for 15 years, and made necessary changes after 1 game. That team almost won the NC in his first year. It can be done.

And not to be overly sensitive, but I respectfully submit that this is the kind of post that should be banned...Don't get me wrong, I'm all for being called an idiot when it's justified, but I want the accuser to make clear who they're speaking to, and to give a good reason (I want to know the evidence behind the charge, so to speak...).

I was not the one who called anyone an idiot. I gave the person who quoted it a thumbs up. Granted, that might be taking it too far. However, having this discussion 4 games into a new coaches reign is "idiotic", I don't care who the coach is, that is far from enough time to determine if a coach should stay or go at any program. I was not the biggest fan of Delaney's 1st 2 years. Even in his case, I was an advocate of year 3 being the critical year for him. However, Delaney made the choice for everyone, he chose to enjoy retirement he had worked ass off for.

As for Stitt, like any GRIZ new coach, I do my best to support the new coach and believe in them, until given reason to want that coach gone. Do I like the hire? I sure do. Have I seen enough to determine if Stitt should be given a lifetime contract or be shown the door? Hell no, how can any logical and realistic person determine that 4 damn games into a new coaching change with major change in philosophy? The few things we can truly evaluate at this point are, his offense has tons of potential. With that potential comes immense growing pains that take time to overcome. Secondly, his hiring has helped Gregorak become a better Defensive Coordinator. Ty has added more aggressive play calling and schemes to his young and ever improving coaching resume, Ty is becoming a more well rounded coach because of this experience with Stitt.

I feel most GRIZ fans realistically expected the growing pains and inconsistencies we have experienced in this change. We are 2-2, equally close to being 4-0 or 0-4. Many honestly expected the GRIZ to be 2-2 or 3-1 after 4 games. Based on this poll, it is great to see most GRIZ fans are strongly supporting Stitt. For that, I applaud :clap: our fan base. Give this hire some time to determine what his future is as a coach.

Secondly, his hiring has helped Gregorak become a better Defensive Coordinator. Ty has added more aggressive play calling and schemes to his young and ever improving coaching resume, Ty is becoming a more well rounded coach because of this experience with Stitt.

Taylor Barton, Root's studio analyst, (a former UW quarterback and son of Detroit Lions QB Greg Barton) was very excited about Gregorak's defense Saturday, describing it as "masterful," and "one of the best in the country."

Thanks for elaborating! It wasn't my idea to have a referendum after only 4 games - but I don't think defending Coach Stitt against those folks makes me an idiot. But prudence probably would have been to let it go. Oftentimes I'm not prudent. But we are supposed to be cleaning up the football board, after all!
