Why on Earth JJ's case was even brought to trial, and wasted tax money? How much money did this cost the state?

I ask this, for a few reasons. When I heard this was going to trial a few people with legal background told me, told me many would be questioning why this trial happened. They told me, from what they heard, and their own experience, the prosecution had their hands tied, and stood no chance in this case.

Granted, the trial is not over, but honestly cannot see anything, but a "not guilty" outcome in this. Anything else would surprise me to no end, and I will be waiting for his legal team to protest this case. I honestly believe, this will be the final outcome.

Will we ever find out who or what factors honestly had us throw away our tax dollars on this case? If my state tax money when to Montana, I would want some sort of explanations. This case so far has turned out exactly as I was told it would, including a lot of egrizzers saying the same things. I was open minded to actually believe the prosecution would have better evidence, but they did not. Please don't bring your comments of JJ or Jane Doe into this, it will turn into a bitch fest.

- The prosecution felt they had enough evidence for a conviction.

Whether or not she deluded herself into thinking that because he was a jerk, or whether or not the DOJ issue pressured the prosecution, there isn't going to be some huge conspiracy like you're all hoping.
