Western Carolina

Here's a provoking thought about one of our previous foes (Western Carolina) now recovering from the devastating recent storms: Maybe the athletic department could ask all players to sign a letter of sympathy to the Western Carolina players, coaches and fans. Undoubtedly, many of them and their neighbors are suffering from the destruction and loss of lives from the storm. Western was the hardest hit area of North Carolina. Sometimes a little kindness is what this country needs. It is a small thing but those are the things that college players and coaches remember more than the final score. How 'bout it Haslam?

The death toll from Hurricane Helene in North Carolina is now up to 95 souls, and un- fortunately, that number will go higher as there are still 90 people missing in Western North Carolina's Appalachian Mountains.

Please keep in mind that these mountains are 250-300 miles inland from where Helene first plowed into the Big Bend area in The Florida Panhandle.
