Would be a great game in Fargo (IF Montana wins). Although I think the Bison win by 2 touchdowns....
Stranger things have happened...just not in my lifetime. I would say this game has the potential to be like the JMU game. If we can get some turnovers it could be a whole different ball game.

I was thinking the same.

We were told every week leading up to it that we were gonna get rolled. 8-)

I don't think the Griz are as good a team as NDSU, but they don't have to be to win one game.

I think that if the Griz could put up disciplined 4 quarters (not 3 like against MSU) against NDSU on offense, defense AND special teams then the Griz can and will beat NDSU.
From the games that I saw that NDSU played this year, NDSU can get lit up on the long ball, but the teams that do that then go back to running the ball over and over and over.
NDSU is a very disciplined team but on defense their secondary has some holes in it.

Top seeded JMU scared me a hell of a lot more than NDSU.

Interesting.

NDSU gives up 152 yards/game passing. To me, that is a pretty good secondary.

14 TDs in 11 games......total!
11.5 points/game given up.

Looking for an honest answer here...is there a weakness to NDSU besides injuries?

Yep...it'll be a tough out, for sure. But the chances are not zero, and that's all you can ask for.

Yeah, in a conference where the top teams after NDSU average 231, 221, 204, and 164 yards passing per game. The Griz have the best receiving corps the Bison will have faced since KSU.

IMHO... a team needs to jump on the Bison early and get ahead and make them play catch-up.

Can the Griz do this? Ya, they probably have the potential to do it but doing it is tough.

Both lines need to be really solid to beat the Bison. The Bison O-line pounds defenses until they run out of gas in the 2nd half. RBs have been rotated all year, both are very good. The defensive line rotates 10-11 guys in to keep them fresh for the 2nd half. Griz will need to keep the chains moving and get TDs, not FGs.

I have seen the Griz once this year on TV, against UND. That might not be the best indicator but they looked pretty good in that game.

I can tell you this. If JJ plays like he did against UNI in the '11 playoffs, the Bison will have trouble in that game and the Griz can win it.

Yes, there is one game to play first but no way a 'southern' team comes into WGS and wins. CC and BC are paper tigers and the Griz should win going away.

Griz/Bison game will be a good one. I'll give a better breakdown if these two get matched-up.

NDSU needs to beat SCSU/Furman winner.

Thanks :thumb: ...it's safe to say that this game will mostly be decided by if our O-line/DBs show up...and if JJ stays composed

I feel like a lot of you guys need to get your sh!t together.

NDSU has done some great things in the short time they've been in this subdivision. As a proud Griz fan though, I'm getting really tired of all you guys licking their balls and acting like you've never been there before.

Great programs do not cowtow to other programs, even when they are worthy of that- especially when the other program is pretty much The New Guy. Great programs (much like great businesses and individuals, etc) acknowledge the accomplishments of others, and maybe emulate some characteristics, but they don't kiss ass and acquiesce world dominance at the drop of a hat like some of you seem so eager to do. Even if they're better right now. Even when it would appear that they have the edge in leadership, talent or experience. If you're going to write off an organization with a tradition that to this day is second to none (I said tradition, not CURRENT football team); a program that has overcome huge obstacles in a short time, that rose up faster than any before it and SUSTAINED that status for over 20 years despite being decimated by administrators and other suits- well then, please turn in your Griz gear at the home playoff game on the 7th. I'm tired of reading that tripe on here. NDSU will obviously be favored should things shake out that way, but for God's sake, stop pandering to the New Guy and show a little goddamn intestinal fortitude.

You guys that are doing all of the butt-kissing should go register on their board, and help conflate the collective bison ego. Hopefully, with your help, they'll be so full of themselves that they'll be in shock when our Dline doesn't lay down on the first snap and shit themselves with fear.

God I hope the UM players are pissed! They should be!

Oh, and hey New Guy- that's GRIZ. One Z. Get it right.

You are right. NDSU has no tradition until recently. Who cares that they have won 113 more games than the Grizz and won 8 Division 2 National Championships. They had no tradition until recently.

Montana has a great football history, but your arrogance of trying to say Montana's tradition is second to non is pathetic. Maybe you should talk to YSU, Georgia Southern, and App State fans. I would be willing to bet they would have something to say about that.

It's not arrogance, it's truth. You're on a MONTANA GRIZZLIES FOOTBALL FAN MESSAGE BOARD! What the hell do you expect? Go lick bison balls

Ya well what did that great Grizz tradition do for you the last time we played them? I will take NDSU's tradition and put it right up there with you.

Why would I want to lick bison balls? It always has to come back to wanting me to do a sexual act with an animal. I know you guys like your sheep, but come on dude it is gross.

By the way, bisonboy, "second to none" is a term you need to research. I know it might be hard, but try to stay with me:

Second is the place right after first. First is the best. Now, if you're "second to none," that may mean that no one is better than you in that regard, but it does not rule out the possibility of having equal(s) i.e. APP, YSU GSU. Stay with me here. I complimented your team in several ways and acknowledged their accomplishments-more than I can say for you. Then I stated that our tradition was second to none, which is true, and your MASSIVE north dakota ego could not deal with that. We can't even speak about our tradition being second to none, which it is, on our own football board, without you crying about it.

So tell me, where is the "pathetic arrogance," really?

Thanks for giving me that lesson. Looking forward to seeing you in Fargo.

I look forward to playing the Bison FOR SURE next season. With how the Griz are playing this year, every game is a fight. I have a feeling we'll be in Fargo in three weeks, but I'm focused on two weeks from now first. Our defense needs to sure-up and the offense needs to start playing from down 1.

Good luck to the Bison in two weeks and I hope two great programs can battle it out together!
