I am still shocked that the #1 pick and the 5x champs couldn't beat a U of M team in Missoula. How is Wentz the #1 pick and he can't shred a defense that was coached by TG. Good Luck Rams, you are going to need it!

What's even more shocking is how the Griz not only couldn't beat NDSU in Fargo, after the #1 QB went down, but suffered perhaps their worst playoff loss of all time in a 37-6 beatdown.

Good luck to the rest of the FCS next year. You're going to need it!

Even MORE proof that all the success attributed to George Wentz is merely a case of him being a system QB in a successful system. The beat goes on, with or without him.

Boy that would really be sickening to me as an opposing fan. Just more proof NDSU got another QB to run that same system very well.

Trouble for the rest of the FCS.....

Sickening or not, it's apparent how (not) valuable he was to their system.....another guy could just step right in. Just like he stepped in for the joker before him.

What's apparent is he is going to be a first round QB pick which is going to do wonders for NDSU's football program.

Also pretty apparent that NDSU must be pretty darn good at recruiting and developing QB's who win a lot of football games.

2011 Bison Alum, Please stop! AZGrizfan has owned you this whole thread. I knew you would bite when I lobbed that post out there. Today, I am very thankful to be a Cardinal fan and the rest of the NFC West is thankful for the trade. #systemQB

As a Steelers fan, I'm glad he won't be going to Cleveland.....Now he can have a career.

He's gonna end up in Cleveland. Sounds like the Rams view Goff as the better QB.

The "system" at NDSU held him back, reduced his numbers, was focused on team success, and ran the ball and ran the ball. When he actually went to senior bowl, combine, pro days standing along Pac12, B1G, SEC B12, ACC QBs, he blew them away. The system at NDSU didnt make him, it held him back.

Hey, I love the NDSU system . . . but it didn't make Carson Wentz. Are you kidding? You are correct in that NDSU will continue to kick ass when Carson is gone, that the system.

A classic system guy would be a Joel Stave, a Conner Cook . . . driving the car with their foot on the brakes. hand it off, throw a screen pass here, don't mess it up guys. You get them out of their system and their comfort level is gone. That aint Carson Wentz. Heck, Liedner at MN is a more of a system guy until he shows me differently. System guys crap the bed when you challenge them.

I agree with Herd. His numbers would have been off the charts at EWU. What do you suppose the over/under is for Wentz needing a stalking restraining order for Alpha?

The system QB thing is bullshit. It was something that you can see Wentz rise above and elevate the system. He willed that system to victories in NC games by his off the charts play, not by playing not to lose (system)

I can't wait to see him crush the NFL

Mike Mayock, Charley Casserly and Mike Golic - all three make Carson Wentz Numero Uno. For the Rams, weighing the input of the NFL's best judges of talent, you got to know Wentz is the guy - and as for Jeff Fisher nobody has to sell him on guys from the FCS. Added note: Talent and native ability aside, everything I've seen of Wentz and Goff, Carson looks to be way better in the intangible area of being a leader.

Fisher had some interesting comments when he was interviewed today by a reporter. The reporter asked Fisher about former FCS QB Steve McNair and how he compared to the FCS QB Wentz. "They both are talented and good, Wentz is good enough to win a Super Bowl".
Could the Rams really pick Goff after that comment? We'll see......

Wentz is a sure fire lead pipe lock, he is more talented than Andrew Luck ever was and hes doing OK in the NFL and Luck doesnt have a running game like Gurley in LA.

My guess is when Wentz is done with his NFL career they tint the Superbowl trophy red
He may, but it damn sure won't be with Fisher as head coach. He couldn't coach his way past 7-9 / 8-8 / 9-7 if his life depended on it.

If Carson Wentz truly values hunting and gun rights in general, he should take an Elwayian stand if he's drafted by the LA Rams and threaten to sit out the year unless they trade him to a team in a more gun friendly State.

edited to capitalize State, although I guess it works either way.

Pretty funny how everyone points to Goff having superior numbers and did it agsinst top competition compared to Wentz. They ignore the fact that FCS offenses at EWU put up the same video game numbers against pac12 teams.

I like how this thread reads like its a foregone conclusion Wentz is going #1 when every major media outlet (including the one Alpha himself linked) says the Rams are leaning towards Goff. Amusing.

The only forgone conclusion I have been reading on this tread is he will be a first round pick. Only a few of the less informed have suggested he would go #1.
