Wentz...toughest place to play was Montana

Wentz' first start of 2014:
Date:
8/30/2014
Site:
Ames, IA
Stadium:
Jack Trice Stadium
Attendance:
54800

Result: NDSU 34 Iowa State 14

MNF announcer just didn't do he research when he made the ignorant comment that "Wentz has never played in anything close to this kind of environment and crowd."

Soldier Field seats 61,500 -- don't know if it was sold out last night? But even my math says 61K is close enough to 55K

And we all know, 55K in Ames Iowa is NOT greater than 20K in Missoula for environment and decibels

The MNF commentator twisted Wentz's comment he made that week about toughest environment he played in at Montana with the most attended game. They are not necessarily the same thing!

Excatly -- ignorant

Commentator has his own fantasy that Wentz is like a Milan High School basketball player coached by Gene Hackman, wide-eyed and gosh golly he's never been to the big city before. That narrative apparently makes good TV.

I just think any Eagles announcer needs to watch this before making comments about Wentz' playing environments and small crowds:

Love the quote at the end, "Charles, we've been to some pretty cool places, but this has to be tops."
I have seen various videos of that App State game, and that is the 1st time I caught that commentary. :thumb:
