Was this the ugliest loss for UM? Perhaps.
I'm not entirely certain this was the ugliest loss I have seen, certainly in the last 25 years or so it is. But, back in the Dornblazer days we use to stink it up on a fairly regular basis. In those years I was in grade school and it was pretty easy to get into the stadium without paying. Often all you had to do was wait until the second quarter started then just walk right in. The bunch of us loved football and it did not matter whether the Griz won or lost, we got to see a real live football game!
Last night after the last of the bottle emptied, I remembered the fun we had at those games. This morning my attitude returned to me as if I was in the fourth grade all over again. At the beginning of the season I had predicted 5 wins this year. My reasons are the same as some have already started many times. An incredibly young and inexperienced "O" line was, and still is, my largest concern. A change in coaching always brings difficulties; new playbook, new methods, different philosophies, more starting Freshman than Seniors, etc.
The point is this, we, all of us, are now getting the chance to watch a team develop from essentially the ground up, to what I hope is a return to dominance and trips to the natty. I'm on board and I hope you are too.
