I laugh at us arguing who is the best of our Linebackers, when any coach in the BSC would gladly take our 3rd best LB and would instantly start over any of his LB's. It's a good problem to have. Life is good and the Griz will have an amazing year in 2013.
You obviously don't know much about some of the other LB's out there in the BSC, IMO Coyle is the only one that would have a shot at starting for the Cats and even then I would take Na'a over him anyway.
UNC is pretty stacked at LB this year, not sure any of your guys would make starters there, EWU and SAC both have solid groups that your guys may not make the cut either.

Good point. Tripp is terrible. He could never start (lucky to make the roster) for the cant's.   You sound so ridiculous with this post. I love it. Keep them coming. Now I really do believe you are just a damn troll. Let the comments fly.

The state college team doesn't have a LB with enough talent to carry water to any of our players at the position.

The jealousy and desperation is strong in this one...

What I am really saying is that he probably wouldnt see the field at UNC :thumb:

Tripp would start on any FCS team in America. It been along time since I have jumped a cat fan for a post. That has to be up there with one of the all time worse posts in egriz history from any fan. I guess the NFL scouts should not be wasting their time watching the GRIZ LB's. I wonder why they don't know about the LB talent at MSU, UNC, Sac State, and EWU? Tripp and Coyle both have shots at seeing the NFL. Tripp will be drafted if he stays healthy. Coyle, we shall see how his SR year plays out. Bumpus of UNC is damn good too.

Downplaying Tripp's talent is as bad as some fans taking unnecessary shots at McGhee, and selling him short for what he means to the Cats. I am sure the Cats would love to have Tripp and the GRIZ would love to have McGhee. Each are great players. Each will have opposing fans and coaches happy for their graduations.

As a GRIZ fan I love our DL and LB's. Hell as a GRIZ fan, I love the talent at each position. The only questions are secondary and kicking.

You're an absolute hypocrite. You call Griz fans out for "maroon-colored glasses" and "drinking the kook-aid" but you're as bad an offender as they come.

I guess Tripp should worry that he is not on UNC's radar. Is that the point of your post Cat2506? If so, that is the stupidest thing that I've ever seen on E-Griz.

Dude, there is generally some truth to what you say but c'mon man that post was absurd.

2506 has an egriz schtick. he goes out of his way to piss off Griz fans, mostly without believing half of his own rhetoric. It's an act and I've fallen for it many times. I'm pretty certain this is one of those times. Jordan Tripp is, on paper, the best linebacker in the Big Sky Conference heading into the 2013 season. 2506 knows it. MOST Bobcat fans will admit it and the coaches will vote Jordan preseason Big Sky Defensive MVP in a few weeks. Now, having said all that, only JT can back it up on the field this fall. Everything else is just talk. We'll know for sure in December.

Nope, I will take Singelton over Tripp any day of the week, I think you may be right about the preseason pick, but by the end of the season they wont be picking Tripp

I won't disagree, Singleton is a standout player. But the list of defenders in the Big Sky ahead of him right now is pretty long and proven...including Tripp, Bumpas, T.J. Lee and Zack Wagenmann

I watched most of your games last year and I have a serious question. Not trolling. What happened against NAU? That loss goes squarely on the shoulders on the LB core in the form of poor reads and bad tackling. Are any of you concerned or was that just a fluke?

This may just be a rumor but I heard Singleton came out of the closet as a gay man last week. If this is true (and my sources are good), I'd like to congratulate him as the first (to my knowledge) gay active D1 linebacker in the country. He'll be a fabulous player for the cats.

It may surprise you but this Cat fan thinks that Tripp & Coyle are both pretty good......especially Coyle but I think neither one of them was as good as McSurdy......that guy was an animal. One fact that both the Cats & Griz will have to deal with is what their respective overall team records will be in December and that will dictate who garners most 1st team all BSC honors......a 5-6 team will not get many players on the all conference team (that goes for the Cats as well!!) If the Cats win/tie for the Big Sky they will get at least one LB on the first team.....same for the Griz; if Bumpas remains healthy he will be a lock for another pick. Na'a could very well be in there too but he needs the Cats to go at least 9-3....poor teams with good individual players take a disproportionate hit.

So says the pathetic cat fan who only has 1 player in the NFL over the past 6 years. The Griz have 7 on active roster from last year alone and it would have been 8 but Shann got hurt early. Out of those players most are Montana boys! The whole time you moron cat fans tried to argue that you were winning the Montana recruiting and years later we proved we were winning it by putting our players in the NFL and 3 of them even played in the Pro Bowl. Idiots!!!!

You really don't know football very well do you? There isn't a cat line backer that would start for the griz. The cat coaches even know and acknowledge this. Now, after this group of seniors is gone the cats will have a large edge at LB. But until then they will remain far behind the griz starters.

Also, this isn't solely direct at you but also some other griz posters making claims. Coyle is a good linebacker, in fact he will among the best in the conference this year. However, he simply is not on the same level as Tripp. A good all around backer but nonetheless he has struggled to completely solidify himself and become a great player. Something Tripp and JP did early on. I would put him and JP roughly tied for the best behind Tripp. Tripp will be drafted. Coyle most likely will get a undrafted free agent deal. I hope he takes it from there and does well, but in reality I don't think he will make it past the first round or two of cuts. Also, looking at tackles to compare the two isn't a correct evaluation. A MLB should get roughly 1.5 or more times the tackles of an OLB.

I have no doubt the griz will have the best front 7 in the conference next year and there isn't a backer who isn't a griz who could start for the griz. I do worry very much though about the LB position after this group is gone.

Man, this thread went full 2506 retard in an awful hurry.

As for the NAU game, we were doing well until the offense completely died. Even the best run defense in the conference won't perform well when the offense can't move the ball literally at all for 2.5 quarters.

Ahh, yes!

Once again bitchboy spends his weekend (a holiday weekend none-the-less) trollin on e-griz.

Get a fu-king life, dweeb.

Also 2506, for a cat fan who claims to be in the know and thinks they are always correct, you might want to do some research before you talk about how good Na'a will be next season. I have a feeling he won't even be in the running since he won't be playing this coming season.
