Not the top 10 and UM should, with all its advantages, be there but they are not. Other schools are improving quickly. UM has a proud recent history but it is now a very mediocre small school team. And, next year, the play the body bag game at Washington....can't get as enthused about things in Missoula, anymore.

I think you are wrong at your thinking that UM has a big recruiting advantage over other FCS schools in the eyes of 18 year old men. It is not all about having the biggest stadium.

Agree. Do you want to play for a coach like Baldwin or Stitt?

Trying to recruit kids to a relatively small city in Montana where it is winter weather 7-8 months of the year has to be difficult I would imagine. Us Montanans can love and appreciate Missoula, but its gotta be tough to convince these kids from other more populous, warmer states of that I would think.

Seems a couple past coaches were able to recruit to be the dominant Big Sky team

Once again we win the stats battle with the exception of the most important one

That one is all about execution. Picks, bad penalties, and an inability to capitalize on turnovers is the back breaker. This team lacks focus and defensively is suceptable to the big play.

So how do we overcome this? The novelty of Stitts offense has been worn out and Semore is looking no better than Ty G as DC. Is it talent or coaching or maybe a bit of both?

Either way, it's immensely frustrating to have high hopes coming into this season, riding the hype that Stitt himself put out, only to watch this team unravel the way it has.

Ursus, you might want to quit living in the past. This is a huge issue for many a Griz fan.

540 yards and 16 points tells a lot about this game. If we could finish as fast as Ursa's wife says he does we would be in every game.

Greatest Show on Earth (between the 20's)

Especially since it's so much warmer and more scenic in a metropolis like Cheney.

Take a look at EWU the past 5-8 years and the Griz. If you are an offensive player, where are you more likely to go? And everyone is so quick to blast Cheney, but to be honest, the Spokane-Cheney area has just as much to offer a kid as does Missoula. And it is easier to get to Western Washington.

This season, Offensively, they just are not that talented. Defensively, they are going through growing pains.

Supposedly we had two good recruiting years including what everyone seemed to think was a great one, this year. I don't know what the current assessment is on that, currently, but you wouldn't expect to see that show up much til next year. On the other hand, we seem to be worse this season.

I just felt the momentum change the moment Stitt decided to go for the trick play in the first quarter.

We were driving with ease, 2nd and 3 and we lose it all with the attempted trick pass.

Just my opinion....

There were several missed opportunities early, then, they score a sudden td after we've been holding them ... then, the morale goes down the hole. Grasping at the morale excuse? Possibly.

I think a big reason is last year they had receivers that made plays and that led to more touchdowns. The Griz are awful in the RZ this season. Other than that, this team is pretty similar.

I think the early decision to kick a long field goal. You either nut up and go for it there or punt.

Agreed, and it didn't help that because of a shit call that had to be reviewed and reversed, the Eagles regrouped, got a third down stop, and it's off to the races.

Good point! Wish they would have nutted up

Exactly!

Stitt kicked his ass, bad, last year ... did he suddenly get worse?

They caught a slumping EWU last season. And I don't care what people say, but the Griz haven't been anywhere near the same team on the road as at home since BH.

No Baldwin had the experience playing Stitt with his schemes and now knew what would work....Stitt is 0-4 in rematches with teams he played before. Good staffs make adjustments to how they play an offense/defense. Baldwin and others make them

Ursus is 0-2 trying to make this a valid point.
