Really glad they're staying with a sure thing in BG. I'd really hate to see them bring someone else in and throw this away.

Game over. So on to ISU. So now 5-3. I've been hearing griz will still get a shot at playoffs, but how bad would seed be? Do griz get a home game?

A team like this year's Griz should probably NOT be in the playoffs. They either cannot compete with the top levels of FCS or are just having "off" week ends. Can you imagine what James Madison or Jacksonville or Sam Houston or NDSU would do to UM? I think the griz fans should settle with stomping MSU which is looking to be more challenging that it should.

But you can probably say the same for half the teams that will be in the playoffs.

Not the top 10 and UM should, with all its advantages, be there but they are not. Other schools are improving quickly. UM has a proud recent history but it is now a very mediocre small school team. And, next year, the play the body bag game at Washington....can't get as enthused about things in Missoula, anymore.

I think you are wrong at your thinking that UM has a big recruiting advantage over other FCS schools in the eyes of 18 year old men. It is not all about having the biggest stadium.

I am part of the move-up crowd ...for basketball reasons....
there are those that worry about crowds at Wash-Griz, if Griz were a .500 football team..
now, we get to see about those worries and we still have not made the move..damn...
outplayed, out coached, and completely into oblivion even in the BSC?

Agree. Do you want to play for a coach like Baldwin or Stitt?

No, but it is about a winning tradition, a good environment, better than average fan support, better facilities and a study center and basically the only game in the entire state. So, what is it that EWU or USU or Weber or NAU have, exactly....this ought to be good.

Or it could be about academics or location or where a girlfriend is going. It could be as simple as the coaches are terrible recruiters. There are many reasons, and for most of those, UM does not have an advantage.

Trying to recruit kids to a relatively small city in Montana where it is winter weather 7-8 months of the year has to be difficult I would imagine. Us Montanans can love and appreciate Missoula, but its gotta be tough to convince these kids from other more populous, warmer states of that I would think.

Eastern is a very good team and could very well win it all this year. I don't think anyone could realistically expect the Griz to win this game, we just aren't' at that level let.
