They trailed most of the game that I saw by 14 and came alive in the 4th quarter.But, it is a gimme, right? And, UM just beat a PSU team that was 0-3...

Think PSU got 515 yards and 32 points on Oregon St. And OSU only had about 375 of TO.

Griz obliterated in the ground game: 295-170 (-125). Averaged 3.5 yards per rush, vs 6.4 for PSU.
PSU first downs 30, Griz 26.
TOP a wash: 30:46 for Griz vs 29:14
Slight advantage in turnovers: 3 for Griz, 2 for PSU
Not a big advantage in passing yards: 284 vs 249 (+35), although the Griz averaged 7.5 vs 5.9 for PSU.

Stat that mattered: Griz 45-33 (+12) for the final score.

An odd, but I’d call it a “workmanlike” win on the road -- especially on the road.

I swear some people are not EVER going to be happy. Our D gave up 26 and scored 8 themselves. You do that every week and you're gonna win a buttload of football games. People bitch about Stitt's road record...he goes out and gets a road win and they bitch because of the quality of the opponent. ANY road win is a good win. And all those running yards in the last five minutes don't mean shit....they were helping us run out the clock....I don't care if they give up 800 yards a game, if the point differential is 18 every game we will win OUT.

I also don't think this win counts because it was played in a high school stadium. Plus, I hear that the refs are checking Strong's club to see if it had magic catching power in it.

Interestingly enough, I don't believe interceptions on 2 point conversion plays count in official stats.

Since we could not find the game on any TV station, and our streaming totally sucks, I had only the stats posted on ESPN to go on. They do not credit the Griz with 5 picks -- but I'd agree that would make huge difference. Also, watching the online play-by-play, I would have to agree that the Griz D "rose up" when it really mattered. Plus, although the Griz O got out-gained on the ground, they provided a pretty good level of ball-control ... enough so the D was not totally gassed at the end. I think that was damned important.

Glad for win but not impressed except for some individual play (Strong, Curran) Special team coverage and returns were pathetic and too many yards by a QB running.....too many total yards also. Jensen looked more like a freshman than ever. He will improve, but evident he doesn't yet have what Reece did. Oline was very good on run blocking when not a ROP play. Better improve or ISU might win and that is scary
