Last week, we wrapped up non-conference play and we head into week 5 to begin conference play! Here are some stats from last week:
  • 38% of participants selected Idaho to beat San Jose State, who edged out the Vandals by a field goal with seconds remaining to win 31-28.
  • 31% of participants selected Western Illinois to beat Eastern Washington. Eastern Washington beat the Leathernecks 52-31.
  • 81.6% of participants selected Northern Colorado to beat Houston Christian. UNC won 26-23 in OT.
Only 6 games this week in the Big Sky with the FCS Game of the Week between #8 Idaho and #5 Montana. Should be a fun weekend! Alright, let's get this going! Click the link below to make your picks for this week. And as always, please let me know if you have questions or feedback to provide!

PICK'EM FORM
STANDINGS

That is the second time I have had a pick I ended up losing that I do not recall making. I didn't believe Idaho was going to win against SJSU, and I actually felt that the fartin' spartans would cover the spread, which I believe was 14 points.

Take a screenshot of your picks. That's what I do since my "old" brain can't remember what I picked from week to week.

I made my picks and submitted and showed submitted but now they aren't there, I made my picks as soon as the teams were listed. Now I'm bummed out cause I was in the top 10 now I'm zoinked .

UNC/ISU is a conundrum. The easy answer should be Idaho State, but Northern Colorado has been playing better this year than they have in years past, and yet the last time I picked Idaho State to win they burned me bad. Ugh.

Since they have less than zero media coverage I'm trying to figure out how you know this, unless you watched their game. And if you watched their game, why?
Actually yes I did watch it lol. And the reason why was because I saw a clip on Twitter of Houston Christian's stadium and saw that there was a Walgreen's directly next to the UNC sideline. I thought that was so ridiculous that I just had to see it for myself. Sure enough there it was. It might be the most ridiculous stadium I've ever seen lol. It was an entertaining game though. UNC won in OT despite losing so many guys throughout the course of the game.

Well now I'm going to have to go watch at least part of the replay to check out this weird stadium. Thank you for wasting my time. Lol.

It's really not much to see, I have driven by there on I-69 in Houston. It's a busy area around campus, lots of businesses and restaurants, but there is nothing out of the ordinary for the stadium more than many in the northeast in particular that look like they are in some city park with small bleachers. Well, not unlike Portland State, just not a high school stadium/
Not every team plays in a stadium, and I have said before, UIW plays in what looks like a hole when you walk up to it.

When they first moved up as Houston Baptist, they were playing in what is now Shell Energy Stadium, where Sam Houston State is playing this year because they are renovating the press boxes. That is the stadium for the Houston soccer team.
I don't know what happened to that deal for HCU, maybe they weren't drawing what they hoped, but they moved back to this. To me, all of this screams that the NCAA needs to be more selective on allowing teams to move up. Attendance for the UNC game was listed as 1,249 in the self-appointed capital of football you know as Texas.
Notice also, the pic here from GEG has the old HBU logo.

Yeah, I noticed the old logo. This was the picture I found the quickest in a Google search showing the CVS building haha

Incidentally, the trip to Hawaii and their stadium...
Realizing they are playing there temporarily, they have not raised the old Aloha Stadium, whatever it is called now, that was disgraceful.
Our seats were very low in this facility that looks like a soccer field with a track around it. We were in the second row around between the 45's and it was a good view. The seating had no backs, so they had put in padded chairs with back.
There was no one sitting in front of us at first, which was good because my knees were pressed up against the seat in front of me and I had no leg room. Then, two guys sat in front of us and leaned back in their seats and the one in front of me looked back and apologized, but then sat right back the way he was, so I'm not sure if he felt like I was not giving him room or what, but the seat was digging into my knees. I told him, maybe if he wouldn't lean back into the seat and sit like everyone else, I didn't appreciate his head right under my chin.
Not long after, the family that had the seats showed up and their two little girls sat in front of us. They left before the game ended and so the other two came back again and I got up and moved farther down the aisle, but those aren't seats that should be allowed at a D-I football game.
Also, the video screen at one end of the place was hung off the parking garage where we parked. Temporary facility, yes, but how long is "temporary" when the replacement stadium has not even broken ground?
