Not that disappointed after this loss. I don't know why but I'm not. Offense looked decent and our defense looked good again against a really really weird offense to defend. Idk. I think we're still pretty good. Got beat on the road by a triple option team. Mehh

+1
The sky is definitely not falling.

What makes you say the defense looked good again? I thought the defense was anything but good. The offense played very well.

Held them to 274 yards rushing. Doubt any team left on their schedule will do that.

Looking at the stats, have to say Griz win the game. More offensive yards, equal time of possession, no backs for CP over 100, and held them to way under their season average on offense, yet lost the game. Two turnovers deep in our own end - that was the game.
Encouraged by the offense. Disappointed in one-on-one pass coverage - especially by the safeties.

We should be 5-1 by the time we hit the road again. If CP keeps playing like this, they will be tough to beat this year.
Cal Poly has been on the opposite side of that more than a few times against the Griz. Great game. I am always impressed with a Griz fans at the game win or lose. Class fans and a great program. Best of luck to the Griz the rest of the season.

Always impressed with you too, Slo. Always classy. And also of course your team. Nothing but respect for what they do.

I will say though, I was disappointed in your attendance today. I would have figured that would have been close to a sell out.

It was 94F and the east stand where the visitors and students sit are baked by that yellow orb in the sky.
The students moved to the north end under the oak trees to get some shade. Stupid time for a game in California in September.

Blame Root Sports for that. Cal Poly plays night games when they have a choice.

Poly won their super bowl. They'll probably go .500 the rest of the way. Happens every year

I think they will do pretty well if they can stay healthy on offense, but I am not sure they can.
This.

Seems to happen almost every year to them. I imagine a part of this is their offensive style of play which seems to take a heavy injury toll on them. They always seem to fade by mid-season. Probably has a lot to do with why they also get no love in the polls. They are the perennial "March" team of the BSC. I want the Griz to play them every November.

Eastern plays there on November 5th. BTW, it's the Celebrate Agriculture game.

...two things bugging the siht out me...
...third and game..deep fade with no clear advantage...
...gustafson 0 rushing yards..0 double threat 0 first downs with his feet...

... ...

Well, of their last 17 games, Cal Poly's 42 points is the third highest ever achieved against any defense they have played, conference and non-conference.

The only team that's scored more points than CP this year is EWU. Four games, they've scored 145, averaging 38.5/game....two deep turnovers didn't help our cause...I believe we'd have helped lower than number without the deep turnovers.
