Overall, I wouldn't say that we played good but I also wouldn't say we played bad. We moved the ball pretty good on offense which has me feeling pretty good. I thought the oline played pretty good tonight. Phillips had some pretty good numbers today. I'd say it was a pretty good day for the offense. The running game also wasn't bad either, Calhoun and Lee played tough.

The defense was a little above average. Let's put aside the 62 points for a minute here, it was a potential national champion team we played tonight. Ya we gave up 500 yards tonight, but we gave up 450 against Valpo, that's a hell of an improvement. I thought the secondary played pretty good tonight. I didn't really see UW throw a lot of deep balls so obviously our secondary did something right. The dline I thought had a good night. 5 sacks and TFL. Plus we had a pick 6. I thought the defense improved massively in a week.

As I said in another post, UW has elite talent. And they played very, very well. In a sad kind of way, their performance was actually a tribute to the history of UM football. I know, that sounds weird, but I'm not trying to sugar-coat anything. We have seen (and saw today) plenty of cases where a (supposedly) top-level team took their FCS "money" game opponent for granted and played like s**t. Not today in Seattle.

You guys keep talking about that if it makes you feel better. ZERO points by that offense. If you can accept that, IMO your standards are in the toilet. When did AZ become such an apologist? smh

No kidding there are lots if people making excuses for Montana football sinking into mediocrity the last decade. It's gone and not coming back until we hire competent people to lead us out of the hole we are still digging.

Against the #7 team in the FBS. I'd like to see any team in the big sky play better against UW than we did last night. The scoreboard doesn't mean shit in a game like this, but we played tough and I got a lot of confidence headed into the big sky.

We had 7 points by the offense but the refs screwed us on a player down field penalty. I went back and watched that play 4 different times. I would argue thatSprunk wasn't far enough down the field to call that but whatever.

Cats had a Td called back and two missed very makeable field goals.. If the usually very reliable Luke Daly makes those the Cats win. Murray outplayed by a good margin SDSU's All American QB. The Cats being a very young team played with a lot of poise against a very good veteran team. Should have been a Cat win.

Disagree on that. It is the beginning of a very good story. Only giving up 31 points to Washington State, a top 20 FBS Pac 12 team and should have won the game last night against #4 SDSU means they will be in the hunt in the Big Sky.

We're 1-1 with a convincing win over a good Valpo team (Griz would be competitive in the Pioneer League). Watch the game this next week as we return to glory and are 2-1. Record don't lie![/quote

They were clearly overmatched by Washington's defense but the idiot Stitt kept running one line plunge after another - brutal. His offensive scheme (if you can call it that) doesn't even compare to a good high school offense. How anyone can think this guy is an offensive genius is beyond me! I hope the players talents can overcome the coaching or the Griz are in for a tough season.

Our program has been EXPOSED! Our players, for the most part, gave what they could. Not making excuses but these players are kids (18-23 years old) and they need direction, discipline and tremendous amount of encouragement. These guys can, and must, do better.

More importantly, Stitt has been EXPOSED. He doesn't need any commentary. The results, or there lack of, speak for themselves.

Yes, griz got demolished, yes the griz looked like sh!t, yes stitt played one play to damn much :clap: But plays that ran well against that NFL caliber team will work well, better or even more open more options during regular season play; against other "high school" caliber opponents in the coming weeks.
Then we have a coaching staff that can definitely put the film together to show the team, "look this worked, against this NFL caliber team with our High Schoolers" :? Dude the team was awesome, ur kidding if u expected a win or closer game, UW is ranked 7th in the FBS not FCS :roll: Offense held well, D can make changes and Dbacks held awesome especially with our previous years. Plus U probably missed the numerous holds, redicoulas missed calls this "high school" caliber team (Griz) was called against or disnt get against this "nfl" caliber team. Also keep in mind: inorder for UW to beat the MT boys, they relied on the refs :thumb: don't lower UW ranking and don't lower GrizNation to ur expectation, if u watched atleast the passed 12 yrs of #griznation U'd be proud what was seen about now :clap: cheer up, honestly, griz did good. The only reason to mention specific calls is because it would have (and most likely did) change the final score of the game...which apparently is very important to those who believe we took too big of an ass whooping...apparently they'd feel better about 56-14.

I'm not sure which of you should be called an idiot. But, the play calls were 31 passes 31 runs. Sounds fairly balanced to me. The play calling by the staff on O and D was very "generic" as they said it would be to help the team better develop the basics. The fact that 3 of those runs were 2-3 yard 4th down conversions against one of the top D-lines in the country I would consider a considerable improvement.
Could we possibly give some credit to the coaching staff for effectively determining if we should do that in any future games?
